Just a flat day that has been coming for a while. The key stats show Freo had all the run and energy.

We had a flat period this time last year too, so no panic.

We were comprehensively outplayed by a very good team, with one of our best and most crucial players injured in the first quarter, and his key lieutenant also playing hurt. If that's how we go down then so be it - I'd prefer that than being beaten by a pus side because of our own inaccuracy or something like that. It's why it's so important to break away and bank wins whenever you can, because there will be times when you can't.

We had to taste defeat again eventually. Still tastes like poo; one serve of victory next week please.

The writing was on the wall. Struggled with momentum vs North and Eagles, made them look like the 2013 Hawks at times. As soon as a decent team shows up we get smacked, being inaccurate was no surprise.

Whilst getting wins on paper we have poor connection inside 50 and inconsistency.

Now with some decent teams coming up the MFC can no longer just show up, scratch a win and everyone on here act like 2 flags in a row is happening

A terrible day from start to finish.
Don’t want to panic but last year we didn’t lose to a single top 8 side. This year we’ve only played 2 really good sides and Freo has not just beat us, they smashed us.

So disappointed in so many of our players. Trac was embarrassingly poor. If he’s injured to the point where he can’t chase he needs to have time off. Brown and Weideman a disaster today. Backline had a complete meltdown without May. Smashed in the air. Smashed at ground level. Really bad day.

What a demolition in that 2nd half Freo were scintillating - very reminiscent of us in the GF.

Hopefully the coaches pick this one apart because this wasn't like our losses last year, Longmuir completely outdid us. TMac, May, Salem and Langdon back help but it doesn't help us around the ball and it doesn't fix our contested marking (TMac and May help but don't fix it).

Interested to see how we rebound next week likely without May.

Freo did a Melbourne on us. They were excellent particularly in the third quarter. Superb midfield effort, tackling pressure, solid defensively and their forwards fired when needed. Deserving winners

No shame losing today. Just wasn’t our day. Injuries finally caught up with us and our defence for once was off. Its been a brilliant run but it couldn’t last forever

Let’s regroup and beat the Swans next week

Go Dees

Sell high on Jackson

Sparrow remains a myth

Jimmy Jordon keeps rising

Bedford too good for VFL

Hope Rivers has his post-AFL career planned out

At least we do didn’t  concede a 100 points.

Yep, at the station now pretty flat.

We’re not invincible…………..dream over. Alas, still top of the table, but need to correct the ship and soon. Next week would be a good start.

This has been coming for a long time, but ugh, seriously I'm struggling to find anything positive from today's game.

It's a loss we need to have, some of the boys need a kick up the pants, and the natural motivation you can only really get when you lose and have to start chasing again. We were hunted tonight.

We need to reset, and get back to hunting others, for 4 quarters. It's been a long time since we did that and there are some tough games coming up so we'll need it.

I don't want to see Weideman in a Melbourne jumper ever again.

Fremantle is a very good team.

They played their brand of football and beat us without having to change.  They’ll struggle to play that well every week, but on their day they’ll [censored] anyone.

Jordon definitely is the bright spot. Result not unexpected given the players missing. Forward line is definitely a problem. Melksham should never have been selected. Lever is no good without May.

Not everyone is acting like 2 flags in a row is happening but their are some and a lot of others who can lay claim to the arrogant supporter type.

What a great second half…

Grow a pair mate that’s pathetic by you on Jacko & Rivers

Wake up to yourself

Pathetic supporter

Clarry was on fire in that first half. Aish went to him in the 2nd half and he was extinguished. But none of our mids were blocking for him around the contest to get him a clear run at the footy.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
