Guess his mum flip flops too?

I'd doubt that a mother would seriously interrupt a son's career forcing change that is not fully necessary. He has an almost unlimited series of short and longer-term advantages staying with the Dees that can be measured by his inputs and potentials to date. My own thoughts are that Dogga will stay at the Dees, long-term. This is a shrinking world; distances are more than halved and for movement across the country, circumstances have never been better. He could have a weekly, monthly or extended visit 'home' and 'return' provided in his contract, if necessary, or  some other arrangement, and still reach the heights of Demon participation and potential, meeting family needs and footballing career continuity. His independence as a younger man making his way in the world are also supported.

LJ may want to go home, but he also doesn’t want to “leave” The MFC. he loves the place.
i don’t think he has signed anything yet, but that is a gut feel only.
I disagree with what GNF said vehemently. The Family have no problem with the MFC.
At this stage i just hope LJ has a phenomenal Finals Series…..

Gee I hope the media whispers are correct.  It would be a huge fillip for our team if the big ‘Spaniel’ announced an extension  during the finals series.

Gary Lyon on sen without mentioning sources said there might be a shift in the move to WA ... hopefully true but possibly managers leaking and trying to extract more from Freo and Eagles ... wouldn't be the 1st time

Didn't come from a manager, reckon it came from the former players group chat via a former captain turned beer baron...

If it is true that he might stay, it would be purely on the basis that Freo don't have the necessary trade capital to meet our requirements (yet). If Jackson is adamant that he doesn't want to go to West Coast, than he may have discussed staying with us with both clubs and his manager to give Freo enough time to get the necessary capital for a trade in the future.

That said, I still think he'll be traded this year and have resigned to the fact. I'm also looking forward to seeing what we receive in return as it may prolong our time at the top of the AFL.

What a [censored] week it could be for Freo… lost their top 4 spot thanks to one almighty Carlton choke… their champion pings a hammy and won’t play in the elim… LJ says no dice and signs on… they will likely be bundled out of the finals in 3 days…

She can big note herself all she likes if the board remains stable and club continues to be successful.

This thread is getting to be like the game day thread! As I see it, it’s 3/4 time and we’re 10 points down. Some think it’s already over but Binman thinks our loading will see us through (ie jacko stays) In the game itself,   his mum is apparantly  starring at CHB for the opposition … maybe cause in our panic we just keep dumping it long and high into the pocket ? Plus the pokémon cards are also having a field day at half forward. But there’s Still a qtr to go …. I think with a few changes the dees can still pull it off!!

She can big note herself for all I care the moment she gets us a home base.

Right now, many are very impatient.

Nah it just keeps this thread going til October 2024

This comment reminds me of the rigmarole around here with respect to Jesse Hogan leaving and then subsequently signing a 2 year contract extension at the dees (2016?). The posts where then updated to along the lines of "Hogan's going.....in 730 days"

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute.
