Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Farewell Luke Jackson

Best part of this thread is  the match by match interpretations and then the inference of whether he is committed, or what his trade price is.

Just count your lucky stars that nobody has been brave or stupid enough to dig up the 'Is Goodwin The Right Guy?" thread... yet.

Well, if I can get sacked after coaching a team to 9 straight wins in a season long ago, then a Premierhip and drought breaking coach should be right in the gun....

Not🤨

Hasten to add the team I coached played finals but was out after 1 game!

Goodwin is as much to blame as the entire FD. We have lost all our games in a very similar way to last night and there hasn’t been anything there to suggest we are a threat to any of Geelong, Pies or Swans.

There will be more fringe teams that will improve and trouble us next year if we don’t change in some way. Thing is I’m not sure we have the cattle to play a more attacking and corridor based plan.

He's Nic Nat 2.0, let Freo take him

Only on Demonland is 'Nic Nat 2.0' an insult.

It's a shame this 'Nic Nat vs Watts' draft debate has skewed peoples perception so much that posters have missed out on appreciating how good Nic Nat has been.

Should be dropped for Weideman next week.

Jackson is stealing valuable ruck minutes off the best ruckman in the league and you’d back Weid over Jackson as a mostly stay at home forward.

Saw Weid last night after the game and told him well done last week and he thanked me. Was with Tom Mac and a couple of others.

Such a pity that the Weid of the Geelong final a few years ago, could have made a huge difference yesterday.

If Luke wants Freo then we should demand they trade for a top 5 pick for us plus another later 1st rounder (maybe future). They got pick 6 and a future 3rd for Cerra.

We have TMac and Brown 30/31 next year. JvR coming through but we need another young KPF which we could get with a top 5 pick.

Our forward cohesion is letting us down ATM.

If Jackson nominates Freo, can we demand a straight swap for Hayden Young?
I know he signed a long extension, but he’s a gun and looks like he’ll own a position on the AA HBF for years to come. Could become a mid too IMO.

I’d love it if we could make that happen, but no way Freo let him go.

Him or Serong. We need to look to re- energise our half backline with speed and skill. Salem and Brayshaw won’t be the answer to speed up our ball movement and transition.

If we can put more speed on the ball, Weid may have a chance to have an impact.

Speed on the ball where BBB and Fritta can actually lead… I’d like to see that.

Jackson needs to be dropped on his putrid game this week, heck Id even bring in Weeds!

Players are aware of poor games and my instinct  tells me he will be back st his best next week. Dropping or threatening is not the way for vital players to be treated.
Gawny was not impacting greatly either but one game doesn't mean the same result next week.
A tweaking of game plans can do wonders with the ability Goody has to work with.

Speed is just not running its taking the game on and moving the ball positively swapping angles and length.

Rivers and Salem and Bowey can all do that. As can other defenders if we make a concerted effort with a positive game plan.

And don't kick to the forward pocket all the time it's defensive and hard to score from there.

I'd play Petracca forward, Jackson as a mid, bring in Wied as backup ruck/forward, and drop Brown.

Not sure Trac offers much as a stay at home forward. He need to be in the game

I actually think they cannot. Salem is a mile off 2021 form and is really back to his pre 2021 form where he was just serviceable and would have a above avg game every 4-5 matches.

Bowey is a great kick but is a small body with not a lot of speed. He may come good in a few years but at this stage his trajectory is looking to be more of a role player. Rivers ,  No.

You may not accept this assessment, but to implement a fast ball movement game plan, you simply cannot rely on the guys above given what we have seen this year.

If only Hunt was a more reliable kick and an a-grade decision maker.

I reckon we ask for that and if they say no ask for 3 first round picks, including one top 5 pick. If they say Young is a gun and we don't trade our young guns, then we say and Luke isn't.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
