The waiting game is over. There’s one more win to go before we reach the summit.

Bring it on!

It's 4 by my count.

Some of our supporters want Demons to win minor premiership. I believe if we really want it, we can and will win it.

But personally, I'd prefer we play Port in Adelaide next week because they had a tough game last night. On the other hand, Brisbane should have a comfortable win over Eagles today, they might give us more hard time next week.

Jackson's two years contract extension will be finished in the end of 2022. Wish our club could offer him another five years extension this year. I believe Jackson got something special, I could see two premiership cups coming our way within 5 years -- with him in our team. Go Jackson, go Dees!

A win tonight would be a great confidence boost heading into the finals ,a top three spot is good but top of the tree  finish is the best.Who would have thought at the start of the season we would be in this posistion.Go DEES

I don't think the cats will get within 4 goals of us.

I’ve kept quiet on here since I joined - the nuances of the modern game are so far removed from what I grew up with in early 60’s Melbourne that I feel under-qualified  to comment in depth - but I truly believe our time has come. I fell in love with the Demons back then, I was there in ‘64 and I’ll be shouting at my tv with the rest of you here in England.  Finals start tomorrow and it’s our time folks.

Morning all! Cracking day in the Northern Rivers, hopefully a portent for tonight.

This could be a danger game! 🕵🏻📡☠️

Commentator: “The Dees kick their 2nd and are … 24 points up still?!”

Special Comments: ”Yeah, it’s been that way from the start, Joe. Weird game this one, Joe. Weird game.

Well Dangermouse is playing!

I think both teams will be going hard for the win.

Our defence has a better chance of holding Hawkins, Cameron and Rohan than their defence has of holding BB, Fritsch and TMac

Smith on Cameron a crucial match-up. If Joel can halve it we’ll win

Dees by 25 points

Smith played well on him last time they played. Smith was kissed on the [censored] by the umpires though. A lot of non calls went his way.

It will be interesting to see if he goes to him again. If he does.. who does Petty play on?

Should be a cracking game hopefully

so we either finish first or third Geelong if they win will be first Who would have thought?

A lot of pressure on our boys

Should be a cracker

Mate. ...this is the perfect post.

Something special is happening.

I do so hope you are correct.

If we win tonight we will be on the way for sure.

Its unusual to have top four teams play each other in the last round.

It could have been close to the finals first week a repeat of the previous round.

I am hoping kozzie and nibbler kick three each with bb kicking six.

4 wins = flag. Think like Jordan.

Sitting in the sun drinking coffee looking down on Bourke St this morning makes me wonder why people think Melbourne supporters spend their winters at Mt Buller. It's like spring! It's not like we can go to the footy. Anyway, I will be watching tonight with all of you. Dees by 7 (goals)

All year the team has set mini goals and delivered.

This will be their new goal for sure

*Hypothetical*

When we beat Geelong tonight I expect the MFC to push hard for Adelaide Oval to be our neutral venue!  With the current state of play in Victoria the chance of any crowds in September are basically gone 😞

The venue holds no fear for us and if the SA Govt allow it then I can see a finals hub in SA.  Port flipped the script last night IMHO 🤷

I don't think our boys will fear any club or concern themselves about the permutations of other games, ground selection or anything else out of their control. One game at time, one week at a time, we can take all comers and that's what it means to win a flag..you need to beat the best to be the best!!

My MFCSS is not playing up this morning. The more I think about it it does not matter who we play next week. What a lot of people don't realise is the home town pressure that port will be under next week.

To me, this is an absolute dead rubber. We have the double chance regardless and we are going to be playing interstate regardless. We’ve proven we can beat anyone in the top eight, there is nothing more to prove, we’re ready. The only thing in front of us is confidence and form going into the finals. I think we’ll get it done and I think BB and TMac Will start to click.

Come on Dees, let’s get this done and move on to the big stage.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
