If McDonald isn't ready the Weed id be happy to see what he's got. Not many more opportunities will be forthcoming.

Does Salem need to be rested?

Is he any good? Have to say I have never heard of him.

I remember a fateful Sunday mid-season asking that of several Crows.

out hunt in hibbo simples, jones gets the vest

If hunt can't make it I'd take Declasse.  He's reasonably quick, doesn't fumble, reasonable kick, can be physical and can take a taller forward.   Adelaide would be a good game to see if he can handle it.  No future in playing same olds.

So Tex, O’Reilly both out, wonder how the rest of the crows are stacking up?

Brodie Smith will also be out with concussion.

Is it just me or did Kossie look out of sorts? He didn't seem to have much impact when I wathced the replay

Maybe tiredness?

Vanders did my head in last night. Fine line between tough and stupid. Give Hunt the week off if needed and same for T Mac. Rest of the team have a score to settle with The Crows.

Yes and a Texless and no home ferrals crowd Crows at that... 100 piont win will do just nicely!)😇

ROB is a very good player but they are super thin in the ruck after him. Strachan, skinny and 1 game; Thilthorpe first year fwd-ruck. Maxy is putting on the bib tor a feast.

I really hope a few of the players had this match circled on their calendar for a bit of revenge. We let them stay in it but some very questionable decisions gave them the chance as well.

Hunt out - Hibbo in

AVB out - Jones in

Weid comes in if Tommy is still sore. Give the old warriors a bit of a chance to A: stake their claim and B: should injuries come it gives them valuable match practice.

I"ll answer my own question: yes reckon he has sore groins

With their ruck out is this a situation where we give Gawn or Jackson a rest with Weed coming in. Not Goody's style but it must cross their minds.

Has Hunt been officially ruled out? Or, at least, has the club publicly stated he's unlikely to play? It seems to be a foregone conclusion here, but I've not seen any news from the club that confirms this.

The same Olds who have helped us get to a guaranteed top 4 and currently top of the ladder position. We are just about to start a premiership tilt now isn't the time to experiment with a mid season rookie

Club said yesterday ‘TBC, based on scans’.

Didn’t look too good for this week with him on crutches post-game.

Thanks Ioges, no answers from me but some questions...😉

Ho many 'groins' has Christian been equipped with?

Does 'groins' soreness increase exponentially in line with the number of 'groins' present?

Could Christian rationalise his 'groins' this late in the season as a means to run out the season in greater comfort?

Early prognosis

The Demons are confident they will regain McDonald for this week's clash with the Crows, while Mitch Brown and Deakyn Smith should make their comebacks through the VFL. Hunt will get scans early this week, with Simon Goodwin saying on Monday night he is "confident with where that sits". - Riley Beveridge

Early prognosis

A couple of Crows have been put on ice for the final two rounds, most notably inside midfielder Crouch who experienced groin soreness following his one SANFL match a few weeks back. Hately has been managing a similar problem for most of the season but will now rest, while Pedlar has a badly sprained ankle from Saturday's SANFL Showdown victory over Port Adelaide. - Michael Whiting

The Adelaide Injury list doesn't include Reilly O'Brien as reported by the Crows yesterday.

Geez, why are you limiting the win to 100 points, PF? Add another 30-40% and 20 Hail Marys.

Maybe stressed by the Tex Walker incident.

Not officially yet, but why in the world would they risk him? We're guaranteed to finish top 4 it's smart to rest anyone with soreness or injury concerns. At least save them for Geelong who were likely to play first week of finals as well.

I've been thinking about whether we'll see a player or two rested this week.

The concern is that with the bye coming up, and the potential for a week off if we win the first final, anyone who gets rested will be having a very stop-start run (will literally be play, week off, play, week off, play, then week off if we win the first final, before the prelim).

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
