Game day already? Itโ€™s 6:45pm on Friday here.
Iโ€™ll have to eat dinner, watch TV, sleep, have breakfast and vacuum the pool in my Demons scarf.

The best side in the comp or a team that is 50/50 over the past month. Melbourne will prove themselves to be one of these things before the day is done.

ย

Weโ€™ll be up and about. so will they. Should be a cracking game reallyย

Deeโ€™s by 2 goals

ย

Demon got temper now, Demon gonna beat Bulldog by 23!

We will know tonight whether weย really are contenders for a flag this year. Surprisingly feeling bullish about this gameโ€ฆ

A. Weโ€™ll match the intensity of Footscray.ย

B. Theย game will be played in wet conditions.

Dees by 16ย points.

19 point win. Good times.

ย

I have two requests of Maxy and co.

1.ย ย ย ย  Kick straight

2.ย ย ย ย  Bring the heat and intensity

If we bring our A game nothing Bevo or the doggies do will make a difference

The boys have delivered when it matters most all season. I expect them to deliver again tonight

Dees by 5 goals

Message to BB. Now would be a great time to clunk and slot 3-4 goals

Well....last week we were expecting our team to finally whip someone.

Perhaps its better to happen today.

Bbb...kozzie ...and Tmac to go beserk.

Dees by a shocking nine goals.

Surely some fine french wine for the occasion as well

Bevo playing a taller forward set upย is already admittance that their best playing their way cant beat ours. The question is whether we still have any of our best in us. Gawn needs to be aggressive at the stoppages with his ruckwork. Viney,ย Harmes and Jordon need to play defensively well and let Oliver and Trac off the leash and get back to brilliant basics not Hollywood footy. Brayshaw back to the wingers club to assist with hard defensive run. Our half backs reboundingย fast and aggressive when we have the ball and forwards who separate and take advantage of players lowering their eyes to hit them. Most importantly for the love of god take your chances. Our speed forwards need to back to Port style inside 50 pressure to contain and turn it over in our half.

Not much to ask really. Get back to doing all these well and it wont matter what set up the bulldogs play. Our best is the best in the comp we are just the least trusted to bring it every week.ย

Looking at the lineups ourย bottom 6 is far better and to be honest our bottom 6 is very hard to identify these days which is a great sign. Iย know we are full strength and they are missing 2-3 but still.ย

Just need a solid team effort. Playing at the same time and same empty stadium as last week will help us.ย Dees by 19ย

That appears to be true, be it by the media or Demonlanders.

Mind you, not one other top 4 ย team has brought 'it' as consistently as us either...ย

So I guess it depends if you don't want to look beyond Melbourne FC and include other clubs in that conversation.

It's just a lovely little narrative, and I suspect the team would call it Fugazi, whilst still working on remedying it.

I concur with Leppitsch. I'd rather be in Melbourne position losing to bottom 4 teams, than losing to top 8 teams.

No, Mate, your Mate got it correct first time, Mate and allegedly, Mate, it is on 7 Mate so sit down with your mates to enjoy a few cans whilst watching the game, Mate, on 7Mate with all your mates, Mate. Seeya, Mate and don't forget: Carna Demons, Mate.

Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde?

Hate to be a wet blanket but I reckon weโ€™ll lose tonight. Beveridge and his coaches will outsmart us thisย second time around.ย

Not sure Bevo's ever outsmarted anyone

I wish i could agree, the main issue with losing to the Hawks was that we probably only won 1 quarter the first. That means even when our leads were being eroded our players did not stand up and turn it around.

A bit rich that criticism of a premiership coach and a forensic accountant. Deserves a bit of respect.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
