Eagles losing makes it a perfect weekend, take that Meth Coke!

Anyone got more than 2 tips this week?

Bring on that North “mathematical” finals chance ?

6 teams fighting for the last 2 spots in the 8, not sure who I want to get in?

Fox commentary - “north Melbourne a young side on the rise.” Well, I guess when you are stone motherless last, the only way is up.

Inspiring win by North, kudos to them.

West Coast are in serious trouble. A smashing against the Swans last week, and now a flat uninspiring performance at home against the favourites for the spoon. They like Richmond, are now a serious chance of missing the 8 with teams like St KIlda and Essendon nipping at their heels.

Celebrating a Norf win really underlines my complete disdain for the Eagles. ??

St Kilda and Freo, feel good factor but not a real serious threat.

That spoil by Ziebell with about 10 seconds left was magnificent. And it would appear he ripped a bit of skin doing it because he was bleeding solidly from his hand during the celebrations.

Something about that game just felt vintage and I'm sure it will go down in North folklore.

Gee that was dismal by west coast. They had a chance to go clear by 1 game on the saints and a2 clear of essendon.

Can't blame hubs this time west coast.

Nice final goal by Goldy in the square when Nic Nat was standing at the top of the 50.

West Coast are pathetic.

They can only produce AFL-level football when they're at home and it's not wet. Anything other than perfect conditions and they fall apart.

They're slow, unfit, lazy, old, disinterested and [censored].

And don't you just love to see it.

Bad loss and it just gets worse for Eagles. The umpires have dropped them as well.

I want sweet redemption in Perth against the Eagles when we play those front running flogs in r 21.

Absolute specials the kangas tonight a typical spineless performance from those jellyfish in the wet.

Unreal, what a round and it’s back on in three days.

What a great result. [censored] West Coast.

Hahahaha. You've been in outstanding form this round @Jaded. 10 coach's votes.

West Coast losing at home is always nice particularly against a team that will more than likely win the wooden spoon.

Well I actually thaught North played some good footy.

They do have some good young talent, but 5 of their best 6 (Ziebell, Cunnington, Tarrant, Goldy, Atley) are all on the wrong side of 30.

Not unlike the Cats. A look at their best 6 every week and it's the same (old) names.

Not even the biased umps could get the MethCoke Eagles over the line.  Rabble.
Kangas have good young players BUT it was Ziebell Cunnington Goldstein that were their best. Stephenson (rejected by the Pies) who really showed he’s a super talented player.

All aboard the Roo train should we beat Hawthorn next week. If the Roos beat Essendon not only do the Bombers hit a snag towards finals the Hawks go bottom.

They probably let Stevo bet down at Norf

He has been described as fat and lazy - hadn't really noticed it before but I did then.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
