No!

Needs match fitness. If there's no VFL, then maybe. If the VFL is back after the bye, then he needs a week

No, the mids are working as a unit, he needs to get his touch and match fitness at Casey

Viney would have been but given Sparrow and Jordon are performing he may need a run at VFL.

Not even a question.

The only question is who makes way.

I don’t think anyone is an automatic inclusion.

Except when it’s Jack Viney.

After re-watching the '87 elimination final last night I'd also bring in Todd, but as a medical sub.

I hope they can map out a program that has him ready to run through brick walls in the prelim. What that looks like with his foot I'm not sure but it looks like he might struggle to play all games so give him the Clark Keating (triple premiership player for the Lions who only played about 10 home and away games) treatment.

While Harmes is doing his job he possibly isn't needed and it's also good to get games into Sparrow, but of course Jack Viney makes us a better side.

Without a doubt he is. He’s our vice captain.
However he will surely need some match fitness. How he gets that with no VFL I am not too sure.

You mean is the player who has for years been in the top 20 percent of players in the comp across 80 percent of the vital statistics get a game with us? Obviously not.

Typo

Think Harmes would be furiously sticking pins into his Viney voodoo doll. Not sure what roll James would have once Jack is back.

As well as Gawny, Clarry, Trac, Lingers, Maysie, Lever, TMac,

If it was 2 or 3 weeks then yes an automatic selection. He has missed a few more than that so I would bring him back via Casey.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
