    Great outcome, was honestly not expecting such good news. Mostly because, well, you can insert most things that have happened to/at this club over the last xx years.

    Now let's get those Swans. We've lost a few we shouldn't have, time to start payback.

    The thing I'd argue is that is suspending players who make accidental contact to The head while tying to play within the rules really the answer?  It's not like we see guys being lined up and ironed out by reckless sniping these days.  I'd really struggle to see how what Fritta did was even careless really when all these actions happen in the blink of an eye.  If he doesn't put his arm out, what other reasonable action does he have to protect himself, turn his body and smack him in the head with a shoulder.  Maybe the North bloke should also be suspended for carelessly running at Fritta while down low?  Where is his duty of care to himself?  It all starts getting a bit silly really I think.

    It's hard to know what the all the answers are, but I actually think asides from the trivial suspensions for 'careless' actions, I think the AFL is probably doing mostly all it can, with regards concussion tests, mininum return periods, subs etc whilst still allowing it to be a contact sport.  The only other thing I think is that the AFL should probably give players a bit more leniency before suspending them, by taking into account previous record and/or giving players a chance to explain their actions prior to assuming the guilty of being careless/reckless etc.  I know that doesn't seem to be the basis of the MRP/O/whatever.

    The ignore function is worthwhile!

    What damage? Bloke played out the game and only came off the ground slowly because of an issue with his leg/knee.

    If Fritsch doesn't try to fend they both clash heads and both end up in the concussion protocol. An unfortunate accident but no damage done.

    Agreed there. Just been watching it and again we will see if the afl cowers to the pressure put on by media boofheads. Both of them can go and &^^$%^*((&^#@$%^^$

    FFS are you kidding me? This is one of the lowest grade offences we’ve seen and it was borderline a suspension in the first place, AFL appeals on suspensions should be for when they get it blatantly wrong and there has been malice in the incident.

    When innocence has been convicted and badly labelled, sometimes the truthful road must be travelled by wiser heads. We - of the Wiseheads - rejoice. DL was an instrumental agency in this process of rectifying a very poor decision. Well done, folks.

      A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

      The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.
