I loved Jeremy Howe when he was with us but he has really not conducted himself well towards the club that gave him his chance.

I hope he does regret leaving one day

When was the last hanger he took in a Melbourne jumper?

It was the last time I took any notice of his contribution to the Demons.

He is the epitome of a selfish player.

Anything he can do in the forward line*, Fritsch can do better.

Anything he can do in the back line*, Lever can do better.

*Except of course take a speccy. I'll give him that.

Not even if he begged.
Took my kids down to watch training back when he was playing for us.
Most of the players couldn't have been better with them.
Howe however couldn't be bothered giving them the time of day.
Far too full of himself for that.
Even back then.

3 things I learnt that day that stuck with me.
Colin Sylvia and Jack Watts were brilliant with the kids.
Howe is a [censored].

Wouldn't take him back but only on a cost v needs basis. Still a good footballer but at 30 odd is surplus to our requirements.

It seems forgotten that the year before he left we tried to shop him to GWS for a draft pick. Top ten I think we were aiming at. He didn't want to go there.

Not having a crack at OP but why would we want him back? His position in the team would be in an area we are currently quite well served. He’d be surplus for our needs.

I don’t really have anything against him, I was disappointed we didn’t try harder to keep him but it really did annoy me when he openly said one of the reasons he was happy to be going to Collingwood was to play as a forward. Did nothing as a forward for the Pies, got moved to defence and suddenly commentators were hailing the move as genius. ?

I would take him back. Great player, still has a couple of years left to run and I think it's reasonable to think that if we end up in the situation with Lever and May out at the same time we would be struggling with Tomlinson. Tomlinson is doing well right now but I'd argue so would Oscar McDonald or Sam Frost with the way the team is playing. Knowing we had Howe down there would give me more comfort. He would be good for depth and would increase the competitiveness for players to get a spot, and keep it. Very nice problem to have

Really don't care about the past, he was younger, more arrogant and could see way more upside with the Pies. Thought his comments for Jones' 300th were very nice and says a lot about him as a person.

A hypothetical.... Let's just say we continue along the path we are currently on and win the flag or come bloody close. Collingwood decide to trade out players with currency wherever they can for their rebuild. Collingwood are open to trading out Howe. Would you take him back?

Leave him to the beer-snakes!

Haha NFW. We have the best defence in the comp without him and with 3 potential A.A selections in it.

No

left for his reasons, like Gerard Healey left when he was needed,

No

Yes, Healey's departure was a classic example, despite his unquestionable ability and efforts with the MFC.

He can stay with the team he really loves

It was always my opinion that we were happy to trade him because he was one of the few we had with trade currency at the time and he probably wasn't the greatest for rebuilding our culture. So I saw him as sort of pushed to go and we didn't try very hard to keep him. The issue came though when he chose Collingwood and they chased him, instead of Gold Coast (iirc). So the deal and currency for him lessened but we were stuck.

And no, I wouldn't want him back.

I was about to go into ‘systems’ and ‘people that are not able to follow those systems’ but I won’t waste my time.

No we shouldn’t get Howe.

And if you think we should, you should feel bad and remorse. So head down for the rest of the day...

No.

In a medium sized defender I think Rivers is the archetype - fast good disposal courageous and selfless.

Howe's main game is the hanger on a hapless fwd who got a rubbish delivery.

 No thanks to Howe.
