Oh come on Sue. Not the dreaded 4-6. I didn't realise it was career over.

When it comes to injury reports do you ever believe what is said by clubs?

First when they are being honest ( hardly ever ) they are at best a guess. It is not a perfect science.

And then there is the normal when they are trying to keep the troops sprits up by giving the best possible results. Can always give an excuse later why it is taking longer.

today is 2 weeks. 4 weeks is 1st march which is almost 3 weeks before round 1 (20th March)

making round 1 unlikely, but round 2 a good possibility.

now saying round 4 to 6!

what changed?

They said 4 weeks until he starts running again not back to full training.  I dare say he then needs a good block of training

I don't remember the exact language used, but is it possible that the club meant 4 weeks from the beginning of the season proper?

It would not matter the wording. The original info is usually to down play the injury time. You can always come up with a line to explain the change.

When did the club ever say that? There was no way of knowing how long it would be until he had the surgery and the only time frame I’ve ever seen from the club is 4 weeks until he’s back running.

He has a bad knee, it was never going to be a super quick recovery. Whether he’s out until round 2 or round 6 is probably dependent on what happens when he starts running again.

Round SIX?!?! Crikey this site gotten out of control w/the Misery guts & doom-groomers ?‍♂️

Yep I just made a negative guess. Oh wait, no I didn’t.

“Browny … with the [knee] cartilage. We’re hoping that he’d be back between Round 4 and Round 6 - it will depend a little bit on how he responds to his program.

Afl site makes interesting reading, lots of clubs losing players to injury at this time of year. Just put your Mfcss away for the moment

Is that possible SL?

Interesting that there's been some significant injuries or later.

Rowan Marshall is set to miss the start of the year with a stress reaction? Braydon Pruess to miss 5 months with a shoulder.

Injuries starting to mount at St Kilda.

It's God's way of telling the Saints that they're the club who'll have to move to Tassie

Whoever he hit won't be in good condition either.

I know this thread’s about Brown but I feel for Preuss, finally gets his crack as a first pick ruck and gets injured.

Agreed he’s had a rough run

i'd say he's (Bradke) almost a certainty to finish his 3rd Cat B rookie this year with a promotion to the senior list, u dont put that much time in for no reason and he's one of only 2 recognised ruckmen on our list. i'd even go as far as suggesting it'll be a 2yr deal.

Why are you so certain?

Observed form and development??  Reports??  Hope and wish??

Wonder I'd they've mixed that up with Weideman?

Weideman hip, Brown knee.

entirely on hope and wish ?

Is this a standard pop or one of those long term ones?

Bummer, I was hoping they were going to do some defensive drills this preseason

Goody will still play him. BFF.

Bad luck for him but a great opportunity for one of the new crop. Not perturbed by this at all.

30 this year but still contracted for 2022. May have to spend some time at Casey. Hope he does that with the good grace shown by Lewis.

2020 the year of the bomb. 2021 the year of the sniper.

On the bright side, Melksham's is possibly our easiest role to cover with existing options, and if one or more of those replacements do well then he'll be forced to earn his way back into the team.

Melksham in good form is elite in his position, but he clearly got a little bit complacent last year.  You'd never wish an injury on anyone but if it sharpens his awareness of his own footballing mortality it could be a turning point for him.

harmes to HF jordon in? plz no nibbler/vanders goody plz

blessing in disguise.

Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read.
