I would’ve thought if they’re playing him at CHF they’re trying to find out if he has versatility. For me he works as a second defender if you have the right mix of intercept and strong number one defender.

Good luck to him.

Good on him, hope he gets a list spot.

Is two goals from 5 disposals enough to get him a gig?  They have been well beaten, so how do we judge the performance?

2 goals, 3 score assists, 6 disposals at 83% efficiency. 4 Marks, 2 tackles all during just 66% time on ground til half time.

Not too bad at all I would have thought.

Two goals to half time in a so far losing side that is...

Well done Oscar. Two goals. 11 touches. 6 marks. Good night so far.

he’ll be picked up for sure

Oscar INSPIRED a couple of goals and at least two goal assists makes u wonder about MFC and dubious development of many players over the last 20 or so years!

Not really

No, not so much.  The elite development of Patracca, Gawn, Oliver, Salem, go against that.

We will have to wait and see if Oscar continues on an upward trajectory, but there are probably also some players like the great Nev Jetta that need to stand at the precipice of their AFL careers before something spurs them into action and they turn things around.  Also similar to Nev, perhaps just a change of environment and someone showing some interest and faith in them may be what's required.

For what it's worth, I think in fairness, Oscar has probably had alot of the tools to be a decient player and it wouldn't surprise me if he made a good show of things at the Blues.

Can you imagine if we play Carlton this year with TMac at CHF for us and OMac at CHF for the Blues. That would be something to behold! ?

Well done to Oscar, hasn’t done his chances any harm.

Would be even more juicy if Tom plays CHF and Oscar is at CHB and both Clubs are up and about with 60,000 plus for the McDonald Cup!!!

He’s a good character and the change of scene seems to be working. I thought it was a joke when he was named CHF but he has backed it up so good on him.

It would be the irony of ironies if Omac slotted goals for Carlton this year while we continued our forward struggles.

Porterhouse gets big love on the Gus and Gawny podcast

I hope he does well wherever he goes.  Looked like a shoot out with poor pressure across the ground.  Be interesting to see how either of these teams will use such tactics when 4 points is on the line.  Oscar had a number of small cameos that suited such an event. Pressure was not his friend.  With all the casualties at Ikon park it may be enough to get him an insurance type role.

Always have liked Oscar and it great to see him doing well (except when he lines up against us).

I hope the Blues pick him up. Best of luck.

I'll assume you meant "decent" and not "deficient".

Was great to see max and Tom there supporting him. I know someone in the footy Dept at Carlton and they had good things to say about his attitude and work ethic

I've heard similar things said about Tom and in particular his attitude during the trade period last year where he understood what was going on and appreciated the way the club handled it and communicated with him. You can build a good team around good people.

not all that different to his stat lines at melbourne, really. aside from the goals and score assists, which he normally got when he played forward.

You could say that about any delisted or unwanted player who plays well at his new club.

Just for an old example and a favourite of mine, Brett Lovett with his 235 games for us, showed the Hawks couldn't develop players, correct?

BTW I saw the second of Oscar's goals and it was a soft chest mark against a small opponent. Hardly makes him Lockett. Good luck to Oscar and I am not one of his knockers BTW.

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
