Brilliant to be training on the G.  Could someone explain the history of why we are not training there all the time and why we cannot  make a case for it. I have always got the fact other Clubs play home games there, but not thee MFC no training aspect.

3+ games on it within a few days each week is enough traffic on it especially in winter with little sun

If my memory serves me right it was mutual.

The centre square was the cricket pitch (Merri soil) and was roped off and often covered. This made training difficult so we would use the old Scotch Oval IIRC.Then we moved to Junction Oval

So that it can be like a bowling green every week?

I remember a time when a bit of mud and a few puddles here and there was considered quite acceptable on a footy ground.

MFC will be providing full coverage post game on the website. Two full teams of 18 v 18  with 4 available on the bench. 40 fit players - yea!

I heard it was to be 18 vs 17 to make sure we get a win

It must be something to do with keeping the turf in decent condition, otherwise you’d think we could do it. Every single other club has their own training ground, as we are aware! We wouldn’t be to train on it during the summer, tho’.

Our next opponent should be Essendrug next week, why should other teams get the full benefits of a compromised situation, whilst we are totally disadvantaged

Fix it up AFL. You pay yourselves enough

I totally agree with you on this, we should have the advantage of this situation.

It is absurd and obviously hasn’t been thought through

One of my favourite posts ever on DL. I loved that show as a kid.

I have the DVD's of every episode.

Not a bad fix at all. Love seeing Hunt dash with the ball, involved in quite a few goals.

If My maths/eyesight is correct:
Red 10 Goals Blue 9 Goals

Red Goakickers: 4 Melksham, 2 Fritsch, 1 Bennell, Hanna, Hunt, Pickett

Blue Goalkickers: 3 Brown, 2 Spargo, 1 Bedford, Jordan, C Wagner, Neal-Bullen

Happy to be corrected if someone saw these differently

Concerningly no goals to Tommy Mac or Weeds

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
