Lot's of journalist have thrown around the term closed borders, but international flights have never stopped. People returning from overseas need to do 2 weeks of hotel quarantine.

Absolutely, Australians have been allowed to return home.

He returned home to Ireland and then was allowed back to work.

Should not have been allowed. Should have been stopped at the border as others have and told to return home.

There is a break somewhere in the system.

correct... interesting as to where he picked it up

Luckily we have that world class contact tracing app

Gil states he tested negative on Wednesday, very low grade positive on Friday and then positive on Saturday morning

Therefore common sense says that picked it up sometime this week

if he was getting tested during the week why on earth did they pick him

Essendon are so dumb? Seriously

If we are forced to play them mid week and be disadvantaged before our next game with a short turnaround because of these [censored], it is an absolute disgrace!

Any chance they play this game Tuesday or Wed night and then push our Geelong game back a day later to Monday night?

The shorter quarters will mitigate shorter breaks.

Or are Essendon out of business for 2 weeks?

Trying to understand Essendon's degree of culpability or otherwise:    Tested on Fri with weak +ve signs, tested Sat at X o'clock and was +ve, confirmed at Y O'clock.  When was he at training?

The book should be absolutely thrown at these flogs. How in their right mind could they let him train with the full group with an "irregular test"

Seeing he has been in close contact with their entire list I cannot see how they can avoid a 14 quarantine.

It'll either need to be the bombers forfeit their next 3 games and the season continues on for the rest of the comp. Or everyone is shut down.

Seriously, this outcome is unfair to us. Momentum is important in a season not to mention the ability at this early stage to build up match fitness.

We should get the win and points due to Essendons stupidity in allowing him to train with the group after he had an irregular test.

Bunch of dumb arses.

I am sorry but that is nonsense. Gil wouldn't know his elbow from his shizen on this. There have been reports from overseas, especially with people who have had the virus and then got better and tested negative to it only to re-catch it again. They believe that had not gotten rid of it and over time it has increased to where it will test positive again.

Get ready for the second wave of a mutated, hence more virulent Coronavirus.

Football season gone now I’d think. ALL restrictions eased waaaay too early. Risk -v- Reward massive fail. Morons.

Did he train this morning,? Gil just said he didn't.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
