Geelong go downhill as their aging core players fail to maintain their previous levels.

We can only hope.
Till they cherry pic a couple guns.

If Goodwin has aspirations to be a long term AFL Coach, we will play finals in 2020 and win more than we lose

I think the Burgess appointment is going to help shape a very different Footy Dept.

An improvement. About 9th or 10th. Maybe 2021 back to the finals

Demons to finish in the top 6

All of rivers, Pickett and Jackson to have debuted by round 12.

Both Hibberd and Jones to play more vfl games than afl in 2020.

Trac to be in the AA squad and finish top 4 in the B & F.

Langdon also to finish in top 4 in B&F

KK and VDB retire before the season ends

Bennell to make a successful comeback and play 5 + games

Brown plays 15 games or more in 2020.

I predict leishman will come close to a major again

so will scott

some unknown yank or obscure scando to win pga and us open . Or koepka both

isn’t this golf predictions?

trac Brownlow

Golf is easier to predict than our team.

Watching the end of last season, I don't think the culture and heart is there.

Slight improvement and will finish 10th

Melbourne predictions

Demons finish 10th due to a standard Melbourne late season capitulation after hovering around 6th for most of the second half of the year

BnF - Clayton Oliver, who also makes All Australian team

Leading goal-kicker - Fritsch, kicks 45 goals as a stay at home forward

Langdon to surprise and finish top 5 in our BnF

Petracca to make All Australian squad, but not team. He plays mostly midfield but is named as a forward. He also finishes top 5 in our BnF.

Gawn again the dominant ruckman, but misses a few weeks with injury and thus misses out on AA team

Rivers our best first year player

Jones and Hibberd retire, both spending time in the VFL as the season progresses

TMac struggles for goal-kicking form again, despite playing whole year up forward

Other predictions

Premiers - Richmond

Wooden Spoon - Gold Coast

Brownlow - Marcus Bontempelli

Coleman - Tom Lynch (Richmond)

Rising Star - Matt Rowell

Coleman?

if we had  decent IQ's, we probably wouldn't be on this site

AVB 'rag dolls' Selwood in the Prelim and kicks a point from the resulting free.  This breaks the deadlock as the siren sounds.  Selwood whinges to the ump that it's 'not fair'.  Saty, George, Baghdad, Dee Spence and Deespicable are among 15,000 'faithful' at Thursday training before the Granny, and provide the usual comprehensive  and insightful training reports.  Tracc and Kozzi put on a clinic in the Granny as we waltz away with #13.  All Demonlanders have a late night.   SWYL pronounces that all shortcomings of the MFC in the past 56 years are forgiven.

Pity we have to wake up !!

i can see

an even first half of the season

win the first and another 5,

but in the second half lose the first 4

and win the majority of the rest and we finish somewhere 7-10 but with the form to win it if we get to September.

but an exciting year worth watching and no blowout losses, because the backs May, Salem, Lever and Harmes work too well for other teams to exploit.

GoDees!!

I really hope your crystal ball is being honest with you on that one Frog.

Burgess inspired, super fit Demons, best 4th quarter team in the league, resulting in 15 win season for 5th position.

Win 2 finals.

AA: Max, Oliver, May, Petracca

Viney fully fit wins B&F - many Demonland posters retract trade request!!

My Crystal ball:

Demons finish regular season in fourth.

Petracca to stamp himself as a match winner in a couple of big games, like the Tigers Anzac Day Game.

Pickett to be first draftee to play, getting 5 games.

Weid to gain confidence over the first half of the season, becoming a handful for defenders and a fan favourite with his attack on the footy after the bye.

Our new wings to really making a structural difference, enhancing transition and delivery.

May and Lever to find their groove and become a seriously scary set of players in a strong back 6.

In non demons news:

North to drop like a stone with poor culture, Adelaide also on the slide

Brisbane to settle back to lower top 8

Doggies to play hot and cold, but their hot is red hot.

Tigers get big heads and dont apply the same pressure across the park and get caught out more often.

Gil to be a complete Dill on at least 3 occasions before the bye.

The MRP is still a farce, playing favourites and being too difficult to even guess who will get rubbed out, who will get a fine and who will be Paddy Dangerfield.

Top 5 goal kickers

1 -    Fritsch     65
2 -    T Mac     47
3  -    Melksham   36
4  -    Petty   29
5  -    Petracca  27

We would win the flag if that happened however I won't hold my breath.

We'll win the premiership and Steven May will make AA alongside Max, Clarry, Tommy and Trac. Harmesy makes squad but just misses.

Greta Thunberg will be appointed to the board of Shell.

Bloomberg will run against Trump in defence of the poor and underprivileged.

All the presenters and contestants of "The Block " will die in a horrific building collapse captured on camera and presented in prime time.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
