Jordan Lewis suspended for 1 week.

We were going to rest him anyway....

a new low.... given our form we can afford to have a laugh.

I wonder if he gets paid.... there used to be clauses about pay being withheld if suspended but I don't think they have them anymore.

Maybe he was ‘sticking up for Max’ or something similar.  Now you bag him for it????

You happy with it are you?

What a peanut.

Had the perfect oppourtunity to hang them up after the Hawks game.

I think it is now time....

pity he can’t face off with Gary Ablett

both of them could jus punch on...

There really isn't any reason to play this guy any more this season...give someone who is going to be there for the future a go

Between Lewis and May, do we do any due diligence on the players we recruit? Pathetic.

We should look at purchasing the three precogs from Minority Report so they can predict the future of our players.

lol. I’ve seen him go hard at the ball one time since he’s been with us. Lost count how many times he didn’t go.

But he belts blokes, what a hero.

The positive is I won’t see him for at least another week.

The season is cooked and there would have been zero reason to play him anyways. I’d rather continue with ANB, Strech, Spargo etc, all players I don’t rate at the moment but need to be given chances to see if they’re up to it going forward.

I don’t particularly care that he smacked someone in the twos and gets a week. I’d be more upset if he got picked to play over giving time developing some kids.

As a recruit he has been fine. Yes it was a superfund top up but he gave us further relevance as a destination club and I’m sure his insights as a once wonderful player with the ultimate success has been priceless.

Now Jordy, please retire from senior footy for the year and provide some guidance in the twos and/or on match days in the box.

[censored] me. Goodwin will be feeling even more feint after this. talk about not thinking of the team. Tbh I wouldnt mind so much  if he was throwing his body at everything as well but he's actually playing way softer than he was at hawthorn AND getting suspended more. I think its faor to say he's in his final year. Hopefully he comes back with a bit of fire in his belly...and expresses it at the ball.

II"l get the paper bag? Keep Goodwin away from the camera this week.

Wait he didn’t retire and get replaced yesterday like several other over the hill players?

As it pans out we could have had Cody Hirst too, developing some much needed run and polish. Instead...

I lol’d. If this was a season that mattered I’d be furious. He’s just about finished as an AFL footballer so who cares.

Who was it in the Casey thread who said Lewis was harrassed all day and did well not to belt anyone? Whoopsie!

I recall the last game against the Willies in Williamstown was shall we say rather rough and ready, most of the roug stuff coming from the hard nit Willie boys. It sounds to me Lewis stuck up for himself.

Posters on this site regularly amuse me. On the one hand everyone wants players to stand up for the Max, then they take the mickey out of a bloke who doesn't take c(r) ap from biffo heroes.

In the meantime regular offenders like Ablett and Fyffe walk away scot free...

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
