Here goes! About to finish up here nick off for a quick gym session, get home and swing to the sweet sounds of Buddymania.

Thank goodness no Justin Westhoff (no goals since 5 vs us!!) clone

Reid is a good player no shame if he plays well only that he plays few games .

We have just as much ability if not more but need to play as a team if not then it will be a very difficult assignment.

There's been a lot of gloom on Demonland of late. Although it must be said that even at the best of times, there is always a healthy miasma of despair hovering around the place. Comes with supporting the Dees I suppose.

And yes … I sat through two shockers this year and was ready to chew my own hand off. I did no such thing obviously and contented myself by giving the maid a jolly good thrashing.

Nonetheless onward and upward! Team sport is a strange beast and it only takes one special moment to turn zeroes into heroes.

Who will produce that memorable momentum changing moment tonight?

Perhaps Frosty will outmuscle Buddy in a one on one and then break away..... take a bounce or two and ….. kick a raking goal!!!!

This is the damage that barracking for Melbourne can do.

(I'd say seek help, but the only remedy is to block everything out. Follow darts or international scrabble.)

When are you thinking? Round 21?

Hurling might be a more appropriate alternative Maze.

There is the chance he could do that, apart from kick the raking goal. He will run to 50, stop, look around and get caught holding the ball...

If it cheers anyone up, Buddy’s personal record against us is very poor considering he’s played for two of the best teams of the past ten years whilst we have been one of the worst.

He’s never kicked more than 5 goals against us. (Equal second least)

Hes kicked less goals against us than all but one other team (not including expansion teams and Hawthorn)

In fact, he’s kicked more goals against Sydney than he has against the MFC.

In Frost and OMac we trust.

Jetta a late withdrawl - no reason given. ?  He hasn't looked right all year so better to let him recover than risk whatever it is getting worse.

Hore to replace him.

Grateful that it is Hore not ANB to replace Jetts

Jones to back pocket

If dry, swans by 70+.  If wet, Swans by 50

Buddy with 8+

We are easily the worst team in the comp right now. Amazing given the talent on the list.

Spargo confirmed mate?

Yes

I just don't want to see a zone in our backline where we see two players do nothing and then the oppo take an easy mark.

Geez,  I don't like the look of these late changes. Jetta likely would've taken Heeney who will be a nightmare up forward. Wonder if Salem goes to him?

Hope not. We need Salem distributing the ball off half back/wing. He’s a legitimately poor defender, and Heeney has been brilliant up forward and would kick a bag.

Look at the team lining up is not very reassuring. This looks like season-ending stuff right here. How disappointing!

Buddy will score more than the Dees tonight

Swans by 76

Yeah yeah, I'm negative, blah blah

Doesn't mean I'm wrong

My body is ready for a victory.

It's going to happen tonight.

I’ve just got back from 6 days of fishing and drinking beers.

My body is knackered.

I have tipped the Dees by 14 points tonight and will celebrate accordingly.

Look I truly do commend you, I should have learnt my lesson I walked out on the Dees V Dogs game in 05 when White won us the game... Sadly I do turn the games off now I think part of me believes me watching is the problem and if I turn it off a miracle might happen....

Lesson learnt. Left the MCG years ago v Fremantle and headed for Jolimont station. This was in the dark days. Heard a few roars from the remaining crowd as I trudged up the hill and assumed the Dockers had piled on a few more. Little did I know, Miller et al made a miraculous recovery and won the game. The lesson I should have remembered was at the Whitten oval when Robbie marked and goaled to seal it and make the finals after we looked like losing in the last quarter. Nearly got some serious aggro from the Footscray faithful as I celebrated. It's never over unless you're 20 points behind with 30 seconds to go. Now I'm older I turn to radio coverage or live scores from the AFL site. My blood pressure can't take it anymore.

Straight into footy and beers, perfect.

Not expecting much tonight with the extensive injury list we have. With Jetta and Lockhart out I count 10 on the injured list that would play in the 22. that is a lot of preferred players and depth missing from the list.

While not expecting much, I think it will be close as I do not rate the Swans this season.

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
