Um, he had a shouting match with a Carlton fan in the crowd last (?) year... Not sure that statement is entirely correct.

How droll. Move on...

Nervous

The Imodium, Maxolon and nexium are flowing at this house, along with some medicinal single malt of course.

Carpe diem boys.

Just met David Neitz and Shaun Smith at the Empire Bar on Great Eastern Hwy near Burswood train station. Any Dee fans in the area could be a decent spot to spend an hour pre game with some demon legends.

We just ran into Razor and his buddies. Told Nicholls to keep walking, we only wanted a photo with Razor. Believe it or not, he said our boys have got this. No idea what this means.

Hmm this could be a mistake. Perhaps you could have offered to buy him a chocolate milkshake?

The Eagles have played one game in 4 weeks.  Same as Richmond.  The bye before the finals has become a killer for top 4 teams that win in week 1.

Too many weeks off is a BAD thing.  Must take advantage today.. The Eagles will not be match hardened, much like the Tigers last night.

The break is no good. The Tigers looked soft, and probably came in believing a win was theirs by right, so they didn't respect the Pies, to their demise.

We're coming in at full pace, full of fire, and the Eagles, much like the Tigers, probably won't have that same fire in the belly. It's imperative that we hit them early (like the Pies last night) and don't let up.

Why does everyone think we will [censored] this in easy. I think we are up for a massive challenge today. Would love to see the Demons win but gut says eagles by 15pts

Like everyone else so nervous, anxious and excited can’t wait. I really hope the players seize the moment, while we have clearly exceeded expectations this year opportunities like this don’t come around often. There are no guarantees in life and despite our list looking in good shape finals next year are no certainty, so let’s make the most of this opportunity.

Off to the son-and-heir's place to watch it.

Can't stand the wait.

I'm heading to Fed Square to watch the game, I hope the place is nothing but red and blue.

2 hours to go! ?

Post a photo!

I’m feeling sick and this day is dragging on.

Can we fast forward to 6pm so I can choose which type of crying I need to undertake?

Calmly watching my bees in the back paddock. Contemplating staying here all arvo as each time I’m inside I get nervous ?

Pre game dietary and beverage regime underway.

This feels surreal.

This playing group has done such a great job. It would be fantastic if we could win today but West Coast at home is a tough gig. I am actually glad we go in as underdogs, and if we win today we will most likely go into next week as underdogs. That is perfect for us.

Win or lose, we have massively exceed all expectations and I’m so excited for the next decade of watching this great club of ours.

Go Dees! ❤️?

Portent of things to come ?  Stuff portent of things to come.  You make the most of an opportunity when it's there.

Seize the moment.

Love that you provide solid QA on this site PD - even picked yourself up!

Dead right too - nobody’s going to give it to us, and it’s not rightfully ours. We have to take it.

And then GTFO as quickly as possible.

Feeling very vulnerable in my dees scarf on this train right now. If you never hear from me again I've probably been abducted by Eagles fans.

Brayshaw was heavily tagged last week. Suspect he will be tagged again.

need a great game from Oliver.

Weideman will get some heavy attention and will be interesting to see how he and the team deal with it.

Let's hope it's a great game.

My only worry is that we go 20 plus points down and play catch up football all day.

They will only abduct you if you owe them a drug debt.  But that happens a lot over there...

Nicholls doesn't have any idea what that means. Nicholls has no idea about anything at all, ever. I reckon he would have trouble finding his car after the game. He probably takes a taxi as he would have trouble simply opening the door of his own car. He probably tries to get in through the boot. The bloke may qualify for some government payout for being legally blind.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
