Could we get Brendon Goddard to the deees for a specific role ?? We don't currently have a leader type to point and yell at teammates.

Goddard could fill that role....and he's good at it.

Surely you jest?

He won't get another gig the way he carried on at Essendon this year.

we already have an old geriatric (Lewis) to yell instructions to teammates, (and give the umpire a serve if we need it)

Run out the oranges at 3/4 time?

Of course he is.

Virtually cost his side a run at finals this year when he stepped on the chalk for a kick-in and gifted Hawks a goal in the last term.  Ess lost by 4 points ?

Fails the NDH test.

Car park attendant. "Next to that tree sir." (points)

Usher. "Bag check this way sir." (points) "Passout exit over there sir." (points)

Doughnut van vendor. "No, hot dogs are available at that van there sir." (points)

Plenty of jobs for him at the MCG.

He could be an onfield coach for us.

That onfield coach would be Mark Neeld but still...

I have always been a huge fan. I know his demonstrative nature on-field has made him look like a right Wally a few times but his poise, leadership and kicking are top notch.

But we do not need him now and he is getting very slow. So no thanks.

Nearly vomited.... might still.

Do we have to start a thread for every player that is leaving another club?

Stupid idea. NDH policy prevails. He isn't that good. Next.

The thread is clearly in jest.

But in the same spirit i would have him at the club as a runner. Perfect as he would get to point, instruct and direct to his hearts content.

Can't imagine though that Goody would take too kindly to being told his instructions are ##%%##%#%# wrong.

Was an absolute gun in his day, so unlikeable but such a good player, well past it.

I suspect he's only unlikeable to opposition supporters. Furthermore, I also expect he's quite well liked by his team mates at both St Kilda and Essendon.

I assume he'll stay in football either in the media or coaching, and I expect he will do very well at either.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
