Correct SFebey. He’s from SA, and left Brisbane to go back home. He won’t be leaving and this is just his manager pressuring Port to improve/push through a new contract.

Hes the type of player we need to target though. Good quick runner who can impact games and compliment our inside brigade.

Probably just his manager putting a bit of pressure on Port to put a deal (or improve a deal) on the table, but hope we'd make an enquiry.

Could definitely use his run and kicking skills.

Unlikely he will leave SA, but if he did I would hope we were into him. Polec is AA material this year. He'd need to put in a solid back half of the year but he is massively underrated and has been great this year. When he is on he is up there with Wingard and Gray as Port's most important player. Consistency is there for Polec as well. Be a great get.

Polec would be good. He has a bit of a rude head, a bit like Melksham, and you need a couple of these types running around to inject some heat and spite into the match.

I would, but, he left Bris to go home to SA. If he goes anywhere it'd be Adelaide. But, a gun when he's on.

The go home was just an excuse to leave Brisbane, surely.

I have to admit I struggle a bit with the number of grown men who seem unable to survive living a 2 hour plane flight away from their home city.

Agree. That's what I keep telling my wife when I recommend moving further away from the in-laws too!

Agree with this, although it must be said an 18-22 year olds are far from grown men. They are glorified teenagers who can legally buy beer.

Agreed. I wouldn’t expect it to be a factor in the conversation about a 25 year old though.

Nope! I don’t think we need him...

We already have players on the list pushing for games and Gaff is coming!

Let the saints or roos cough up a million for him.

Handy player but not for the money his agent can command with a desperate club like the saints.

There was a 20 page Hamish Hartlett thread while back, at the time he was the only gettable Port player worth chasing. Polec is a bit of an injury prone downgrade ain't he?

If Fev could actually see his doodle, the Roos would probably throw six figures at him. They are that desperate, they might leave a bunny in a pot of boiling water on Jared Polec's stove should he knock them back.

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
