Blind Freddy can see how slow we are in the middle. Totally exposed at the moment.

Needed to change the set up on ball ups. Max should be trying to belt it forward to set up an even contest,  instead little tap down and they clear and spread.

No pace.

Crap disposal.

Harsh on Lewis.  I don't think he's been that bad.  At least he's gotten his hands on the ball a little, unlike many others.

Lewis isn't the problem, it's further up the ground and around the ball.

Yep, we've been found out a little today and I can't see us coming back from here.

We've looked a little flat, as if the last few weeks have taken it out of us a little.  Too many players down and not enough gut running.  The last few minutes summed up the day - we went inside 50 4 times for nothing, then they run it out with ease and kick a goal.  It's what was happening to us earlier in the season and it's happening here again today.

I don't see us winning this game but we've got another 30 minutes to make a response.

We’ve had a nine day break. Last few weeks had nothing to do with it.

I say again, we all look at the Pederson's, Lewis, Vince for leadership . . . But it's JONES again in a big game as captain, giving us fuckall. He trailed Mayne to the ball 3 times in the last 2 minutes. Goal.

This is unacceptable from a skipper. Sorry, we all love the bloke for sticking fat but these are different times. Step up or step down stuff now

Hogan having a shocker. I think the Pedo v Weid debate is over. And poor JV although ok is no where near his best form. Anb and Gus have been outstanding in the last month but absent today. Spargo is he injured? He started so well. Poor Vince needs to consider retirement. Lewis not too far away. Petracca is just so very average and will not become a Dangerfield.

We may make the 8 but we aint gonna win a flag this year. Still better than Dees of 3 years ago at least but this is not a Premiership side at all. Need some gun players that rip these big games part.

Tmac has fought well.

Too many old slow players - Vince, Lewis, Jones. Can’t have them all in the same side. Pederson, yet again, is just not up to it.

Forward defensive pressure & press non existent today

Smashed in the clearances all day. Lost it in the middle.

The back-line have panicked with the amount of ball that has come in non-stop, whilst the forward line hasn't been all too effective with the limited ball that has been in our forward 50.

Time to bring in Hunt for Bernie?

He's not offering much anymore is old Bernie. At least with Hunt there's a bit of pace, something we have severely lacked today.

All these people calling for Vince and Lewis to be dropped where have you been the last 6 weeks, silly to judge a player off 1 game

38-20 in clearances. Pathetic.

Gawn has wasted every hit out. Got nothing from Jones, Viney or Oliver. Brayshaw wasted on the wing. Bad selection with Pederson. We needed speed. Hunt should have played.

Nobody will come close to replacing Lever. I think we will make the 8, but we look like just ladder fillers.

Amazing hunt wasn't already in today. We knew Collingwood had us for pace but did zero about it again. Hunt on a wing today at least would have shut down a bunch of those pie fast breaks up the wing

Poor BV is cooked. All day I have been waiting to see a dees player lay a solid tackle that makes a pies player think twice but alas we just haven't shown ANY grit.

Collingwood clearly a better contested ball team, quicker, sharper, better tacklers, and more depth. And we can't play the big stage. In respect to premiership possibilities, today proves we shouldn't even be in the conversation. For all the BS about QB being our GF, today it was a rehearsal, and we've been exposed as frauds. Utter frauds. Such is the MFC.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
