I understand this has nothing to do with Demons but it is to do with the health of the game.

Rance performed one of his most blatantly absurd and bulldusty dives on the weekend, was rewarded with a free kick and today his coach comes out and says there is nothing wrong with the way this soap star in his own lunchtime plays the game. He then criticised those who have raised their voices  about this serial offender's antics. What annoys me is that even those who criticise this so called 'legend' almost apologise that they can fault Rance because he is a 'great' player, after all.

Rance's claim to  great player status is totally immaterial to the discussion about his flagrant and continued breaches not only of the spirit of the game but the basic laws of the game. In other words, he's a bloody cheat who deserves to be called out for his cheating and his total disrespect for  the game. He plays like someone who feels he is entitled. In other words, he plays like a kid who has never grown up, who is entrapped by his own sense of privilege and vanity.

Hardwick’s “poor, poor Alex” presser was sickening. He’d be all over the opposition player if the boot was on the other foot. Hardwick comes across as a huge sook.

Rance's punching of the back of Jack Watt's head whilst Jack was laying face down on the ground tells us everything we need to know about Alex Rance's character. Great player sure, but plenty of personal flaws. Diving and gutless sniping just two of them.

Can't say much more.

But contrast this apologetic excuse ridden 'pseudo criticism' with the absolute bulshit that we had to put up with when Clarrie was hit in the jaw in Perth, and Jesse had his throat assaulted at docklands by a serial basher.

That gutless assault will stick in my mind whenever that dog of a man is swooned about.

He got off so lightly - after all it was as I recall only a fairly short time after Phil Hughes died as a result of a blow to the same area.  It IS always a very dangerous place for anyone to be hit by another, even by what Broooose calls "an absolute legend".

It does beggar belief the media fawning over him - as though the can't seperate individual acts from the individual as a whole (or look at the body of work of the guy, who whilst being a great defender, dives fairly frequently, snipes players and assaults players in the back of the head whilst on the ground).

How Hardwick can with a straight face in a press conference, support that behaviour is beyond me....must have been biting the absolutely [censored] out of his inside lip from stopping a smile coming

Then there was the dive when Viney chested him. He is a totally gutless, sniping piece of excrement.

Of course, what did he get, a week wasn't it?

I understand Hardwick wanting to defend his player, but his reaction to the criticism was almost as embarrassing as Rance’s act itself.

This is absolutely a stain on Rance’s career to date whether Hardwick wants to accept that or not.

And no, players don’t pretend they are on a 10 metre platform “four or five times a game”.

Did anyone check his shorts after Jack squared up to him? They were white so it would be impossible to hide the shite stain.

couldnt agree more monoccular. But it might have helped if the coach or someone from the club had come out in favour of Clarry back then as well! I still [censored] off about that.  I think we're an easy club to pick on still. Maybe when we start actually achieving things eg playing finals, or dare i say it actually win a few,  we'll have a bit more media clout or capacity to hit back. Still feel like we are too easily preyed on.

1 - Elbowed Watts in the back of the head

2- Ducked into a tackle which resulted in him having to go off the ground (was earlier in the same game I think?)

3- Stages for a free kick when nudged by Franklin (last year)

4- Stages for a free kick when jabbed by Greene (last year)

5- Gets done for staging against the Crows in R2 this year

6- launches like Jeff Hardy at the slightest touch against the Bombers

The thing I hate is the commentary earlier in the week that "he'll learn from it" and making out like it's one blemish on an otherwise fine record. It's the 4th time he's blatantly staged in the last 12 months not to mention every other time he ducks his head/throws himself back/dives forward. Hes a serial offenders and he should've coped a week for that disgrace of an effort last Saturday.

I hate Prance (as my sister calls him) and that's coming from someone with a soft spot for the tigers.

The commentary team love him, so he can do no wrong.

Personally I think he is discreetly dirty and is not the unbeatable player everyimakes him out to be.

Doesn't mind putting the knee in in the air either. Pretty sure it was Prance that broke Bulls ribs last year when he was uncovered and I've seen him do it plenty of other times as well. He is the player I detest the most in the AFL, nothing worse than a God botherer that's a hypocrite.

Viney is a thing of beauty at times.

Big game for him this weekend too.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
