When playing Richmond....

Play man on man, make them accountable.

When they take a mark inside fwd 50 they will always look to centre the ball to a teammate in a better position.

Would love to have Dylan Grimes down back for us.

Asked Prendergast about him in 2009.  Told me he wasn’t talented enough to make it in the AFL.

How does one team (Eagles) get 33 frees and the opp (Port) get 13???  Wouldn't affect the result but it must have been a doozie of a 'home crowd advantage'.  33 vs 13 would have to be an all time record.

Imagine how many more WCE would have had if Shuey had played the whole game!!

It would be interesting if the AFL published the 'frees given' stats for each week for each umpire!!  Given that everything else is up to public scrutiny I don't see why umpires are protected from being accountable.  Can't see it happening tho.

The Western bias is a phenomena unknown in any other form of professional sport LH.  Yet the AFL sit back and are happy to allow it to continue year after year.

Maybe we should rename the AFL the ACCC.....both totally inept at protecting the end user!

Can I take that back....

Bombay i would be making an impassioned plea to the Mods to reinstate the delete option....and make sure it's before the final siren of the Tiges vs Freo match!

St kilda will try and take a lot out of Norths win last night.. We have to be on our guard big time and be ready and switched on right from the start!.

Now there are a couple of novel thoughts ...... I wonder if Goodwin and the players have thought of that?  Could be really useful.

If we needed any reassurance than stats can be totally misleading at times here's a cracker.....

Tiges vs Freo Half Time

Clearances - Tigers 8 /  Freo 23

Centre Clearances 1 / 7  (Center clearances / Goals scored ...  usually has a high correlation)

Stoppage Clearances 7 / 17

Nearly triple the clearances in favour of Freo!

Score at half time 53 to 9 in favour of Richmond!

Richmond continue to buck the trend on large negative differentials in this area.  Has Hardwick implemented a significant change in the manner / style in which the game came now be played and won at the highest level in this area of play?

Not so much their supporters. They're like a cross between Deliverance and Hurstbridge.

Feel a bit sorry for Brisbane but what I noticed was the commentators carrying on about how tired the filth would be playing 3 games in 11 days. Okay we and richmond were 12 days but don't we rate a mention of it as well. The carp about the filth in the media is sickening.

Dumb decision in the end by Christensen. Glory over the % when they have Zorko and Rayner dominant in the final 5 at stoppages

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
