Again...it would make more sense to rest him next weekend... he's just had how many days since his last game ?

How many really put it all game against Hawks ? He did.

Paint this any way folk like... imho it's dumb dumb f'n stupid.

Tonight is a far more important game than Essendon.

Interesting stats Ethan. Where from?

Footy Live app. Need to capitalise on the hitout differential, this is where we really miss Viney. He and Gawn had a great synergy.

Wet weather is all the more reason to play Fritsch, the boy does not fumble.

Thought he was unlucky.

I know Weid was great at Casey ......Fritsch was much better than weids first 2 games.

i rate richmond super highly and have done for several years - 2016 was an aberration for them, and 2017 they made up being knocked out in elimination finals in 2013, 2014, and 2015

they've been in the finals for four of the last five years and have, arguably, three of the best 10 players in the afl in martin, rance, and cotchin

their small forwards and defensive press is incredible

i think they'll well and truly put us away - 7 goals plus - but i honestly don't think it's the end of the world as they're the reigning premiers and have started the year on fire compared to our wobbly beginnings to 2018

Yeah that must be it. Doubt there were any valid football related reasons at all.

Id love to know what that validity was as it flies in the face of sense.

Mind you.. we're getting good at that

If true, surely you'd rest him before the game which has a five day break, not after a nine day break.

What if they want him to play against Essendon because we need speed against Essendon on the faster Etihad track?

If we lose tonight it won't be because we missed Fritsch.

As Josh Mahoney said this morning, we are picking teams with tonight's game in mind first and foremost.

I understand young players being rested, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to rest after a nine-day break.

If it's wet like predicted then all the more reason to play him tonight.

I have been waiting for this side to explode the last 18 months. We see quarters here & there, halves here & there but we haven't seen it for a whole 4 quarters. Tonight is the night, I can sense it. Big stage, a lot to prove. We win this & we'll do it by 5-6 goals+

No'one should underestimate the loss of Vlastuin for the tiges, he is a massive out.

Hibberd

Jetta

Lever

Hunt

Four of our most important players have all been poor in 2018...    they must turn it around tonight and get their season on track.  Thats 4/6 of our backline, no wonder we have been leaking goals.

All guns when on song.  Fire up fellas.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
