Was thinking the same DC... wonder if each team will get a brand.

Ruski and Smirnoff self select for GWS and perhaps Port Ellen for Port (does sound like a great drop ... 35 year old malt from the Isle of Islay and a price to match.)

Of course it's great that we didn't get Tanqueray !!

Don’t know how the Johnnie Walker blurb “keep walking” would relate to us. Something perhaps Hawks fans might have thrown our way after the game on Sunday.

Only demons supporters would lament the fact their new sponsor produced blended whisky rather than single malt.  Hilarious.

4th new sponsor in a month - I will drink to that and yes it will be Johnny Walker. Geez we are becoming multi-cultural Swiss, Scottish, Japanese & Australian.

Good idea !!! Alcoholics are much more trustworthy than gamblers.

Oh Teacher's I need you like a little child
You got something in you to drive a Dees fan wild
You give me consolation from the Melbourne blues
Help me admit, come out and say
Teacher's I, Teacher's I, Teacher's I, Teacher's I need you

Nothing wrong with Johnnie Green either.

All its peppery loveliness...... Masks the crap feeling of defeat very well.

Great news, can't help thinking Stones Mac may be a more appropriate drop for us at the moment though. :(

If you are going to spend approx $200 on a bottle of JW blue I would highly recommend getting a non blended whiskey for the same price, it will be much better. Same company sells Oban, lagavulin and delwhinnie

But thanks for the $$$ JW

From the article

"Johnnie Walker will also be a partner of the AFL’s founding and arguably most prestigious club, the seminal Melbourne Demons  as well as a proud sponsor of Seven’s Friday night’s appointment viewing TV broadcast of the AFL."

Well, they have covered their bases given that we don't get the chance on a Friday night game!

But I must say I read this while having a neat green. Tasty.

In recent times they added to it, to make it "Joy will take you further -- Keep walking"

Hopefully, the joy of finding that winning feeling, and walking right into the finals!

Must admit to having a couple of nips of Black Label before dinner this evening.  (A step up from my usual tipple of the cheap, and some would say nasty, tipple of 1495...!)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
