Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tiges have gone a little bit too far the other way. Marking is key.

Tiges pace punched holes, but they just don't have enough marking power.  And they are off a little, from 2017

A great team effort from Crows.   Can they maintain that level?

If the Crows can keep their best team on the park they will be hard to beat.

Yes they lost Lever and Cameron but Gibbs was a great get for them.

If we lose to either North or Saints this year I don’t think I can go on. Watching them play today, they are both absolutely diabolical and an embarrassment to the league.

Gibbs looked better than I remember him; he must 'ave matured under Malthus.

Surely Frost in next week for Brown. Punch able head but when he gets his tail up he can do damage. No way Lever or McDonald has what it takes to go with him

Certainly no confidence in levers speed as yet.

The Saints have been absolutely awful, and it's down to the fact that North are the masters at bringing teams down to their level.  They flood back, pick the ball off and go.  It's nothing more than that.  They put on some pressure but, seriously, they are a nothing side and when they are treated as such they can easily make you play some horrid footy.  Today is a prime example.

We will need to play smart footy next week to ensure we beat them.  Bombing it long to a contest won't work.

Transport both teams to Van Diemens Land one way. This is an abortion of a game.

We don’t want them. I reckon they’d struggle to get a win in our failing state league.

Good analysis but its worked against us every bloody year. How I yearn to beat these serial pretenders.

Ben Brown will destroy us next week as per usual.

Yeah always does.  Very worried about tomorrow and next week.  If its 0 3   I mean bloody hell.   Hoping and praying for 2 wins in a row.  Thanks to the saints for playing north into form for next week (Not)      Trying to be positive  we will put both North and Lions away  ( I hope)

True.  We will need to come prepared, not with the stubborness of 'if we try this enough it should work at some point'.

The two off the back of the square could be a diabolical move as North's defence are terrific at picking off the long kicks to a contest and getting numbers around the ball when it hits the deck.  If they can run it out of our forward half without too much pressure from us then Ben Brown will have a day out.

We go up.to Brisbane on a 6-day break, then come back to Melbourne to play North, who we haven't beaten in a decade, on less than 7 days break, while they'll be 9-days fresh coming off a big win.

Standard.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
