Shortest injury list in the history of the MFC. Pity 2 of our top 10 players are on it!

Yeah that bloody Misson has gotta lot to answer for. handicapping our players like he does.

did anyone here have any success sacking him, ever ?

better not stuff up our September glory Miss'. ^_^

I'm certainly no expert, but assuming there's no further set-backs or especial caution I would expect players of Viney and Tmac's ilk to be available within the month.

Another of Mission's mission failed on Mckenna

Misson could work at the MFC for another decade and some supporters would still think his name was Mission.

And he stuffed Trengrove’s career as well.

Laughable.

I'm not quite sure who's punning, who's trolling and who doesn't quite get the joke.

Neville Jetta (ankle) – test
Jordan Lewis (hand) – 1-2 weeks
Tom McDonald (foot) – 2-3 weeks
Pat McKenna (hamstring) – indefinite
Aaron vandenBerg (ankle) – 8-10 weeks
Jack Viney (foot) – 3-4 weeks

Extracts: "Tom McDonald (foot) – 2-3 weeks  He’ll actually train with the group a little bit on Saturday morning. We actually expect Tom to potentially be available for the Essendon game.”

And, "We think Aaron will probably get a couple of VFL games in before the bye and then we’ll see what happens after that bye week.”

The Ess game is less than 2 weeks away so it will be a huge effort if Tom gets up for it.  I'm torn between saying we need him to play and hoping we don't bring him back too early.

Surely Tom will have a game or two at Casey - he played the first JLT, but match fitness?

I would have thought so.

But 'match fitness' no longer seems a major consideration for players who have been in the system for a few years.  eg J Kennedy Eagles, Tex Walker,  G Ablett.  Of course, the risk is they can't contribute enough at AFL level or overdo it and breakdown again.

Hi

On Saturday night there was a suggestion that Balic had pulled a hamstring.

There was also suggestion it might have been cramp.

I assume from his absence from the injured list  that he is fine.

Wouldn't it be a great story if he comes good.

Balic was training this morning and looked to be moving OK. Also Dom Tyson was running around and looked good. The Casey boys were training didn’t see any seniors training. TMac was kicking footballs and doing sprints, no Viney or AVB but I only rode past and watched for about 5 minutes.

jesus wept...how DUMB ARE WE as a football club...

t mac hurt his toe drilling drills inside in BARE FEET...

McDonald said it was like a ‘turf-toe’ incident and he felt the problem occur during an inside drill.

“We were doing some tackling and contact work inside, in bare feet, and as we do all of our stuff in boots, I reckon my feet weren’t as conditioned to doing stuff bare foot,” he said.

I'm assuming Frost was injured and that's why he didn't play at any level this week.  When I went to training he was in rehab.

Joel Smith did most of training on Wednesday but pulled out of a few drills towards the end and he didn't play at any level.

Fritsch, Tim Smith and Balic didn't play at any level this week but were not mentioned in the injury report.

Does anyone have any information on these players?  I don't recall seeing Balic at training.  Is he injured?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
