Some players have ton of injuries in their early years of life,hunt took awhile to get going. If Angus feels he is right to go nrxt year it should be up to him and the club.

Agree don't let him play VFL next season that seems to be where these hits happen. Recover, train well and play the NAB cup and then seniors only next year, fingers crossed!

Can only hope he has suffered no ill effects from this incident. He really needs a full year of no head injuries otherwise its hard to see him continuing. If he has a full preseason he won't be playing VFL next year which is a start.

Goodwin on RSN this morning stated Gus had scans on his neck and all is clear. 

Good news.

Also, interesting to hear Goodwin say Gus will end up as an inside mid for us when the question was put forward to him.

It's his natural position and is where he should be playing but wasn't because of the concussions.

Daniel Menzel had 4 knee reconstruction should he have given it away because he's had four serious injuries, neck has nothing to do with brain injury totally different to his concussions, I guess hogan should retire, after having a bad back, then his [censored] removed, then a broken collarbone that's 3 serious injuries he should give up. Next time Gus has any injury he should think about his brain even if he  breaks his big toe, because that's where your brain is.

Only 100 cases ever reported of the injury occurring and never playing football. So Gus should be OK.

But seriously alarmist statements saying he should retire are over the top, if it were another concussion that would be different. AFL is a contact sport and injuries will happen. Chicken Little should relax.

Why does this latest injury tie in with all the concussions and calls for him to give it away. My first reaction was that I was glad it wasn't a head injury and a more 'normal' one. That he can go through to normal recovery and get back into it next year.

Of course, he's had a terrible run but no need for alarm bells yet surely!
