Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We are a soft club. We have no leaders. Our coaching group has no idea how to get us ready for big games.

It makes me physically ill to watch our fans at the race clapping this effort. What a joke.

There isn't a single player in the leadership team today who deserves to be there next year. This has been a problem for years and nothing has changed.

Disgusting effort from Gawn, Jones, McDonald, Lewis, Vince. Even Jetta was ordinary.

I take heart from guys like Trac and Hunt and Oliver and ANB who tried and gees I feel for them.

It feels like a really wasted season. We had it all in front of us and dropped massively easy games and went to water under pressure from a team playing for nothing.

I am so sick of seeing Melbourne players looking deflated after the game. It's your fault. You did this to yourselves. I hope it burns you in the guts the way it burns us. But gees it doesn't look like it out on the ground.

Couldn't stick a tackle. Fumbles galore.

I think objectively we were okay for three quarters, but after the game was bloody nearly put out of reach.

Gosh that was a deflating performance.  I try very hard not to take losses to heart, but by golly I'm going to struggle not to feel filthy for the rest of the weekend.

Just got home, haven't seen a second of the game, but it's clear that we went with the choke this afternoon.  So terribly deflating and disappointing.

I know our season isn't over just yet, but at the same time, I'd be shattered if it was as I'm not ready for it to be at all.  If this does end our season it will leave a very sour taste in the mouth.

For those who watched the game - what was the problem today?  Did we look nervous early and couldn't claw our way back in?  Or did the Pies simply want it more?

Problem is we're the Melbourne football club and never fail to fail, and disappoint.

They were harder, faster and wanted it more. Every get out quick scrubber kick went to them, because they played in front and were more switched on.

We showed some guts for about 10 minutes. 10 minutes of false hope. The rest was gutless [censored].

Gawn has been absolutely [censored] by this ruck rules [censored]. Shades of Jeff White with the centre circle brought in.

For the love of god, trade Tyson.

If you need to work out where we lost this game, consider this: we won three out of four quarters, but lost the match.

We outscored Collingwood from quarter time, including after HT when Hogan was off injured.

The fact that we lost the game in the first quarter, when we didn't have the injury and we should have come out breathing fire, is terrible. Far worse than losing to Richmond/Geelong in the last quarter when we were down players.

We end the year with 10 losses, 5 of them (North x 2, Fremantle, Hawthorn, Collingwood) to sides who won't be playing finals. 50% of our losses this year to sides in the bottom 7. Port might stink against the good sides but they only lost one game to a bottom 10 side.

The current points gap to West Coast is 17. That will vary as Adelaide scores, but essentially West Coast need to win by around three goals to take our spot.

Tom McDonald's kicking in that last quarter was a disaster. Not sure we can afford him down back. He offers a lot more up forward

damage was done in the first quarter and the maggots did all they could to get them across the line

You will know that I am reluctant to have a go at players, but tonight I am going to lash out! Oscar McDonald is too slow to play this game, Frost is a much better option. Tom McDonald is only marginally better in a tight situation... has no skills below the knees and intelligence is debatable. Harmes gave us nothing today. Hannon was only rescued by 4th Qtr. Gawn was beaten and did not rise to the occasion.

It seemed the only kicks that Tyson didnt send to an opponent were smothered. And yes, he looked surprised at the outcome of every [censored] single one.

Too much wrong with this side.

Last six weeks have been poor.

No excuse not going hard enough in the first quarter.

Too many liabilities. TMac, Omac, Vince, Hannan, Garlett's set shots. Brayshaw no where near it. Gawn is now ineffective. ANB, etc

And I honestly hope we don't make finals. We don't deserve to.

And Essendon and West Coast do? We beat them both. We've played better than them at our peak this year. We're the 3rd youngest side in the league, and we're still in a damn good spot to make the finals.

Just now, Dr. Gonzo said:

Surely not!

Yep they were clapping as this bunch of soft losers walked off the ground.

I hope Goodwin tears them a new one, but honestly what's the point?

Our coaches are just as much to blame for our soft starts and our poor tackling efforts

Thanks, DA, and to the others who gave some feedback.  Can't be easy to do after the day we just had.

Really sounds like we [censored] the bed with all the expectations.  I thought we might take time to settle, but it seems like it took us until half way through the third term to settle, and by then it was gone.

I still believe we can do okay come September if we get there.  If we make it then we deserve to make it.  The week off would really do us some good.

Funny you say that, because I actually feel the same right now, although that could change by tomorrow arvo.

Today was a effectively a final, and we stunk it up big time.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
