A mate of mine has a son who has been talked up as a ten 10 pick. I'm not naming names as it will give him away. Anyway they had a sit down visit with GWS. They asked why they wanted to talk when GWS doesn't have a pick until much later. The reply was that GWS thought that they might have 2 first round picks. Not sure on the exact wording. Seems to me that someone is leaving and decent. Could be 2 leaving I guess.

Bad run of injuries for past 2 seasons, has hardly played. More than that, hard to say. Not just a long kick, but an accurate kick. Which we need.

I would love McKenzie if it means I never have to witness Vince take another kick out again in my life.

Josh Kelly will probably net them 2 first round picks.

All depends on cost then doesn't it, if they are injured a lot you don't want to give up much at all if anything.

They will need those picks if Kelly leaves. He has been their best player this year.

"Need", really? Why, because they've had the riverina zone taken off them? How terrible. Because they were permitted the pick of uncontracted players and best draftees year after year? Because 'salary cap' is a phrase that doesn't apply to them? Honestly, if the Crows win tonight I'm expecting Gil to announce a beginning of 1st round priority pick for GWS. Maybe even if they win...

Or  StKilda 7&8, Carlton 3& 10( we get Lever. ) Lions 2 & maybe first rounder for Schache pick, maybe North conjure something( not sure how). Collingwood midfield seems ok. Hawthorn full on midfielders and no 1 pick.

Who knows? If true we must be in with a chance.

I also heard from a well connected source that Kelly was leaving too. Did you know that Paul Connors has an elite stable of players he manages including Kelly and Jack Watts. Source said nothing about Jack but at this stage Kelly is on the move

I just have a feeling we will pay Garland out and delist/retire him and that he might play a year at Casey, to help the younger players there, if he recovers well enough from his knee injury.

This makes no sense to me, mate. Why not leave him on the list for another year if we want to play him at Casey? Paying out his contract means we only free up a list spot, but not cap space.

We re-signed him, we stick with him for the moment. Besides, there are others I'd delist before him.

He signed a coaching position with our women's team a few months ago and has been working to develop them. I reckon that's the clubs way of getting him into coaching and getting him off the playing list. He's supposed to be a bright guy, so good luck to him with his coaching gig. Doubt he'll get a game if he stays on the playing list next season.

Jon Ralph reporting that Lachie Whitfield about to sign a contract extension with GWS. No real surprise there.

It's interesting that so many players are staying loyal this year when all we've heard about is that the players want the freedom to move with as little trouble as possible.

Clubs have worked them out. Pay a bit more money, easier to stay with what you know. Extra SC space works to advantage of both.

A lot of clubs have been trying to get in contact with him to put offers but can't reach him because he is staying at Craig Lambert's house....?

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
