Your right I guess just thinking out loud but there is no reason we cant win 4 more. Having said that I would still like to know.

The umps were atrocious and cost us goals.

Bloody maggots.

I know we berate the maggots ( as they deserve ) but its really quite worrisome in that it really is obviously atrocious.

Last night, last week , today, tomorrow it's all rubbish. God knows how anyone plays the game when it's roulette out there..fmd !!

Who cares if Watts had a stinker? If anything it's a positive. We beat Port's best 22 (literally, they have no injuries. NONE!) with some of our best players either tiring or playing well below their best. We can go deep in September if our cripples regain their touch in the coming weeks.

Mentioned on Ology too.

Ports BEST 22

Compared to our injury list

returning from Darwin

five inclusions - gotta pick up the pace

If someone had told me that we would be equal fourth at this stage of the season after missing 5 of our top ten players for many games I would be calling for the straight jackets. Goodwins coaching has been superb

Held firm with so many injuries.

"contained" the Swan/Crow losses

not blowouts.

Any player has zero excuse for weak efforts, regardless of time out from the game.

Watts was beyond insipid today, save his nice effort on the boundary in the last few minutes.

He re visited his worst games of his career today.

Only a [censored] would think otherwise.

We won with Watts in the team/forward line, automatically take more than one defender.... give us a break.....

Its comforting to know come finals we can beat Crows and Port.

Would have beaten cats if kicked straight and Tigers caught us depleted with 3 players down on the day.

Lewis behind the ball was massive! His leadership and setting the boys up reminded me of Luke hodge.

Without him I worry port may have stolen that game.

I also though trengove was solid, looked very composed with the ball.

Hogan found a bit of form.

@TGR any comments?

All I care about right now, % even that improved.

Just on that - its nice the the team can score a couple of junk time goals in the final minutes of a match just for the scoreboard cosmetics - its been a long long time when we had the polish/desire/capacity to do so.

Our percentage is the worst in the present 8 but it is slightly better than those outside the 8.

If we only have 2 more wins ... that means three losses and a probable reduction in our percentage.

it would be touch and go.

Hard to see us not winning at least three from here so we should be right but hell I want five wins and a crack at fourth spot !!

I second this, apart from the Watts "rusty" comment. He was insipid.

Better?

Jetta was immense today and Hannans goal was terrific. He keeps managing to kick them in very tight positions. It's unbelievable he continually does it. Hope he keeps it up.

Just because I like doing it most weeks:

Clayton Oliver - 30 touches, 10 tackles, 20 contested possessions and 5 clearances.  And this is on a day where you could argue he wasn't at his best.  Gun.

You need to chill out and stop abusing posters. I don't agree with the comment either, but stop behaving like a [censored].

Dees won BTW.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
