Dismayed by Tyson getting votes, his ability to hit an opposition player lace-out is outstanding.

Good for you! Look at the number of targets he DID hit. Hunt was just as wasteful

6 Hibberd

5 Tom MCD  ( 24 disposals at CHF, good in the ruck also)

j4 Jetta

3 Tyson

2 Oliver  10 disposals in the last quarter

That's why I didn't give Hunt votes.

6  Sir Michael Hibberd - must make the AA team.

5  Nev Jetta  -  must make the AA team

4  Clayton Oliver - must make the AA team

3  Jack Viney - set the tone with a dominant opening quarter just 18 days removed from foot surgery. He is a god

2 -  Jesse Hogan -  hes back

1 - Jake Melksham - 3 goals including a great mark and the sealer, and some important touches through the middle where he set up some other goals

Really unlucky - T Mac, Tyson, Hunt

Tyson was the engine room in the first half and one of the chief architects of our dominance. He tired in the second half, by his own admission, so his influence waned, that's why he's low in the votes, but I reckon it's low hanging fruit to pick out a few errors and decide he sucked. Players who get heaps of the ball are bound to make errors with it at times.

To add to this, it shows how close Tyson is to being a genuine a grader, he's a very good kick who makes some average decisions at times.

Omac's work defensively was also good all day. Probably just a couple of brain fades where he spoiled back into corridor that cost him votes.

6 Hibberd - Missed the first four games but now must be in race for AA spot - hopefully there will be seven defenders (one on bench) as Rance, Hurley, Docherty, Laird, Toohey are all locks and Rampe has probably played himself in as well.

5 Viney - What a first quarter. Set the tone with Tyson and returned us to the passion we showed in four-week win stretch.

4 Jetta - I reckon this was his best game this year because he also provided run as well as his usual one-on-one wins. Great season. As to AA, now way unless you think all other clubs all have duds in defence.

3 Gawn - An amazing first half before injury against a guy that is regarded as the AA ruckman this year.

2 ANB - Can those who keep potting him please fess up now. Has vision and smarts and is Goody's No.1 pick-up. Shades of Robbie Gray in how he plays now.

1 Hoges - That was more like it. Only a couple of petulant dummy spats and he even tackled a couple of times. Covered heaps of territory as well.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
