Did we job one of the umps sisters and not call them the next day?

Screw it. It tastes sweeter beating 26

Yellow maggots absolutely keeping port in it.

They have dropped the ball so many times and havent been pinged. Ridiculous.

I've noticed that all year. Its a direction the umps have taken but it doesn't reward all our hard work.

Gotta say its absolutely bloody freezing here. Punt road end is bloody artic.

Port can really play and change momentum quickly. This will become an even contest very quickly if we don't keep up the intensity.

Dominating the clearances is helping. Welcome back Tyson Viney and Gawny (to form)

Have we been allowed one advantage yet? I'm not usually a critic of the umpiring, but this certainly looks like a systematic approach to slow down our run.

Absolutely super half of footy by the dees

need to bring that intensity out of the sheds in the 2nd half. Do that and we'll win this by 15 goals

Free kick in the centre with less than 20 seconds remaining and Trengove kicks it to the wing?

But a full 360, before dropping the ball, and its still play on?

I'm about to send my wife outside so I can break something.

Neal Bullen is improving weekly. Very impressed with his vision.

Been happy for Trenners thus far.

Watts is invisible.

Still no second efforts from Hogan, although a couple of his goals were very nice work.

Welcome back Max Gawn

Tyson fantastic first game back

Neville Jetta is bloody brilliant. Love him.

Chook, I have been out of my chair at LEAST 6 times, at blatant frees to us that have not been given.

They have been [censored] disgusting today.

Part of their mandate is to exert a buffering influence on the scoreboard where ladder leaders and interstate teams are concerned so it's really business as usual.

We played some good footy and tackling was great. Have to keep up the pressure in 2nd half or they will fight their way back into it.

I really think the umpires were not just on the plane, but on the team bus for PA

That's great news Crompton.

After today, we will be a ladder leader.

Look forward to seeing us get whats due.

Salem and JKHTrac always has a quiet first half. The upside is he usually as a big second. Lewis needs to stop handballing to someone under pressure and if we could have more space in our forward line it would be good. Great tackling from us. Perhaps JKH could lift with Milkshake.

Watts and Salem struggling which is to be expected. Max may be tiring put him at FF maybe.

Nicholls is umpiring, why are people so surprised...

He's still pizzed at Maxy for thumping his crap ball up away when we played Collingwood.

I've been vocal about how bad ANB's kicking has been this year but not today. He's been spotting up everyone - and with great intensity. So good to see.

jetta - has to be top 10 plays in the comp he's our rock.

Trenners hasn't put a foot wrong, directing traffic in our defensive set ups, no obvious problems at this level, playing on Sam Grey.

Ours are more effective but thankyou.

Viney pretty quiet that quarter. Had 12 disposals in first term and only picked up 2 more to half time.

Third quarter is massive. Hope come out with the same intensity and keep rolling on. Dont want a post NT game 2nd half fade out.

Trenners has been ok.

No glaring errors, and good positioning.

Hasn't been exposed for pace yet either.

Very happy for him.

And Hibberd has been recruit of the year. What a player.

Whatever it is, it doesn't take into account non-decisions, of which there has been many in favour of port. The umpiring has truly been extraordinary this game.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
