I would be happy with those as well.

Viney would be nice and if our finals hinged on this game alone I'd play him but there's still another five games after this that we need to him to be fit for.

Garlett has flown back to WA for family reasons. Might not play on the weekend.

Massive, massive, massive. With Port's run off half back/slingshot key to their game, we won't win without Jeffy's pressure unless every forward lays 5+ tackles and shuts them down. Might sound silly, but stop Port there, limit their midfield and they don't win.

Everyone that have Trenners as an in, are you going on just that Tweet or has there been any confirmation? I refuse to get my hopes up again

INS - VINEY, SALEM, TYSON, WATTS

OUTS - Vince, Kent, Smith, Pederson

Garlett to fly back tomorrow in PJ's private jet

It will not only be Watts' 150th game, but it will also be Oliver's 20th birthday.

Is he still only 19? Jesus!

Just saw we are wearing the indigenous jumper on the G for the first time. I like it. Nev will be a very proud Demon this week with all the work hes put in with RAP. Just hope Jeff gets back to play in it as well. Will be a special moment for the Wurundjeri people and the footy club

The thing is given our ins, they'll be running off guys like watts, petracca, Salem, and maybe someone like Kennedy. If they stuff it up we will be able to seriously hurt them.

Im very confident our boys will get up for this one and deliver a strong win.

Port are still a little bit unproven against strong opposition and I think we are a much bigger chance than most people are giving us

Great changes. Must be massive question marks over Trenners, but I hope he does well and cements his spot.

Thought Pedersen was terrible last week. Wagner was ordinary and Smith looks a mile off to me.

Well that's the best possible result.

Garlett has been named and we regain Salem, Watts, Viney and Tyson.

Best of luck to Trenners as well!

What a bonus will be seeing Trenners play his first game in a long time live with my kids. Hope he goes really well.

Wow! Not only do we welcome back 4 best 22 players (Jack Viney you are not human!!!) but Trenners gets a run.

I'm absolutely stoked for him but I have to say, why now? Why not when we were crying out of some experience and leadership? Why not when we hade so many from our engine room missing?

Anyway, what's done is done. These are huge ins and should make everyone walk a little bit taller this week.

Bring on Port!!!

Huge ins. That team looks like our best on paper for a long long time IMO Get Jones back and it's a bloody strong team that others will fear!

This should be a red hot game!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
