Expected it but am not happy dropping easy goals in the last. Get our missing player's back and we go very close to winning that.

Got a footballing lesson tonight, we'll learn from it. See ya later Darwin it's been real.

Expected to lose coming in this game with our injuries. If Watts, Tyson are back next week then no excuse losing to Port.

Hibberd Oliver Hunt petracca were good melkshake in the first half Lewis and jkh were ok the rest pretty flat mistake riddled and looking a class below

Reminded me of the last couple of years. It would take us 5 minutes to grind out a couple of points, while in the meantime, they just continually coasted down the other end and kicked goals.

None of our talls played well.

We were clearly out worked as they always had options around the contest and were able to use this to their advantage, especially when  we were trying to apply pressure.

I expected to lose by about 25 but it was still disappointing.

They were clean and played with a system.

We bombed the ball in and hoped for the best.

Backline players fumbling everything and forwards missing very easy shots.

Melksham a terrible forward target and costed us numerous high quality entries, while burning 2 more of his entries by foot that should have been goals.

Just a complete and utter waste of time and exercise how many members have we signed in Darwin? If this club signs another one of these NT deals that's me done. P H uck this for a joke.

JKH played alright - positive

talls let us down tonight in a big way, Pedo, Frost,Hogan had shockers.

Screaming out for more grunt in the middle till Viney & co get back...

Poor quality clearances and wasteful going into F50.

Thats about it.

Can't wait for Jones, Viney, Watts and Salem to be back.

They're the difference.

layzie hitter nail on the head.

Hopefully we will have a very close look at the replay and LEARN about transition out of defence - a football lesson.

Crows top of the ladder for good reasons.

Goal of the Year for Hunt!

Nice way to put icing on his new contract!

Just did a ladder predictor. Had us scraping into 8th spot only to play a red hot Sydney on their home deck. My lord we need our players back. The last couple of months have been an exciting ride but we're running on fumes now.

On the positive side, it was nice to see Jesse Hogan working his way into some good form. But please can we get rid of our Darwin fixture as soon as financially possible. I love Darwin. I was born there. But I love the Demons more and this is like seeing an abusive parent (Darwin) beating up your first love (Melbourne).

amazing teeth?

Didn't see any of the game tonight - can someone with a record of being reasonable give me a bit of an account of what went down? Looks like a few played okay but others did not. Cheers in advance.

I hate fumbly footy.

They had spare players on their attacking side of every stoppage, free and unmanned for most of the night. 1 handball forward and they were away. At least 12 - 15 times. I have a sore throat from screaming at the screen.

Please, please, please can we get some class players back soon.

JKH was very, very good.

Only interested in the positives - I think JKH has turned the corner and is obviously a midfielder and not a small forward. O Mac continues his development down back, Lewis played his best game for us and Hunt has returned to form.

i wish Darwin would secede from Australia and be ineligible to host games.

I don't think we will play finals. Of course happy to be proven wrong...

Gave away too many easy goals from turnovers and our clearance work just wasn't there. In other words it was [censored]!

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
