Max is not the Max of old. Hasnt taken a grab or had one kick ....Love the guy but we could drop him and still win. He needs to lift as a senior Demon. Poor effort. 4 handballs for the day.

Fix the clearances problem and we will win

Lucky to be this close!

We not going that bad. Really just need to tidy up a bit. Few players given us very little so far.

Much better quarter from Kent.

Not saying much given how poor his 1st qtr was.

I don't feel like we've been outplayed. This is a quintessential Carlton game. 2-3 extra behind the ball, rebound, bank on your talls marking. They aren't a high scoring side and have no plan B. We've defended well but our rebounding has been horrific at times. Long periods where they just create a wall and we can't get out, so we overuse it and become stationary.

We've dominated for less than they have but we are far more efficient. This is with little influence from.  Trac, Garlett and Hogan.

Kent had a good quarter there.

Wagner one of our best. OMAC is a star. Frost has saved about 4-5 shots on goal by out marking them.

My main concern is their marking and Kreuzer. Not phased about clearances because we've held them well. We just need to rebound faster and make sure we have the numbers to counter their loose defenders.

That last goal should definitely give us some confidence going into the second half.

We've been outplayed for most of the game but managed to come back with true grit.

They seem to have some injury issues and wouldn't it be ironic if they ran out off puff in the second half due to an inability to rest players off the interchange as happened with us against Richmond?

Eventually the question is gonna need to be asked about whether T Mac just stays forward now. He's killing it.

The last 6 weeks has essentially completely changed his career. He'll now play significant time up forward in games and do it regularly. He's gone, in a couple of months, from being a career KP defender to being a McGovern-style swing man. It's one of the biggest stories at MFC this year.

Kreuzer toweling up Max yet again. Maxy has struggled around the ground again today and Kreuzer could've had a few goals to his name by now as he's getting to the weight spots and taking some marks.

There two men down so no excuse for losing to a bottom 4 team with 2 men down for a half.

Just get it done Dees!

Only Carlton's injuries will keep us in this game, otherwise it's sayonara. As we're discovering, it's all about the midfield. Fumbly and too panicky down back. Uncertain and no defensive urgency up forward. And as has been the case all year, oppo's play the width of the MCG much better. We're playing like we've got a lot to lose, which we do, and Carlton are doing the opposite. Yuck.

Some bloody harsh taskmasters in here, ie Max and Jesse.

Between them they have played a handful of games all year.

I think he may be carrying an injury. He is a much better player than just 4 handball for half a game. Put Pedo  in ruck max at full forward and Hogan in the centre or CHF.

I like the kid, but so far I have to agree.  Makes you wonder if JFK and Kennedy did something really wrong beyond what Kent did.  I've thought Kent has been ok, but was very supprised Kenedy didn't get the nod.

...let's see what Smithy can do in the second half.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
