Whispers say he is out the door.... ha, no idea on that one at all really.

However, I have always rated him and although he fluctuates from a C to an A grade on his day, I think he'd compliment our midfield quite nicely.

Would take him in a heartbeat... could be like Green who was disinterested at the Lions and since moving to the Bummers, has really stepped up (and I rate him much more highly than Green).

He's always had trouble breaking a tag, and he's slow. Nevertheless, his left leg is a cannon and if he can be one of a fleet of on-ballers he'd be handy.

Does he fit Goodwin's attacking style?

would play half-back distributor for us you'd think - he is not nearly quick enough to run through the middle

i was sure he signed a new contract relatively recently and would not qualify as a free agent; what's he worth on the open market? about the same as hibberd / melksham - a second round pick?

edit: he signed a 5 year, $3m contract at the beginning of the 2016 season, so he'd have three years left on his contract at the conclusion of 2017 presumably

Did you get those whipsers from the Buckenara article?  He only suggested he could be someone of currency that they could trade.

Either way I have little interest in him.

You now need pace off half back, otherwise forward pressure will close you down. Hibberd is quick enough and strong enough to run past the pressure and find space. Not sure Rich had the same ability.

Would rival Brayshaw for the biggest head at the club if he joined us.

Is he an upgrade over what we already have? Not overly quick, but good kick.

He's actually a player I recall at the time that he was drafted where the 'experts' questioned how much more development/upside he had in him, but still ranked as top draft pick... but slid to Brisbane in the end as a 'bargain'

... experts probably got it right!

I thought Rich was the ducks nuts in his first couple of seasons. That laser left foot of his is a real weapon. Can go over defences and hit up a target. But as others have said he is slow and if he can't find space his value is negligible. Daniel turns 28 next year so would be close to his twilight years for any team to pick him up. He should see out his career as a one club player

I thought so.  Buckenara was only suggesting that Rich can be used as trade bait if they are looking to add more picks, he didn't say he has heard anything about him wanting out.

Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
