Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Is that a good thing BBO I tended to like his size up forward as when he hit a pack....he hit!

Wise words there. Will gypsy see the light I wonder!

I guess he must be fitter and more mobile ...... but yes his physical impact will be much less.

I guess we'll see - a little extra pace at Etihad is no bad thing.

Who kicks goals for us Sunday?

Who plays on Daniher?

Who rucks?

Who wins?

1. Hibberd, Vince, Hunt, Bugg (1... maybe), Multiples (maybe) ...Pedders, Tracc, Jeffy, Watts

2. Ideally a combo of mostly Frost and cameos from T-Mac

3. Pedders doing the bulk with resting cameos (i hope) from Watts and probably a few minutes from Frosty thrown in to mix it up and give both a chop out.

4. Bombres by 3 to 6.

5. None of the above

Stretch going back to tinker on his game is not a bad thing.

Might be hard to tinker, given that he didn't play for Casey and is obviously on standby in case of injury to a named player.

Sorry to be negative Fifty- 50 suspension show a lack of application and sense. Injuries  hurt but the Dogs  had some bad injuries last year and still managed to win enough to make the finals and win the GF. Because IMO their talent level is better and deeper. We are still 4- 5 players off a finals team.

Timing of our injuries, to key players, early on in games has not only left us without that key player but also left us with the need to rob Peter to pay Paul during those games, and reducing interchange options.

IF for example the Max and the Spence injuries had occurred in the final quarter IMO we would have won both of those games.

IF we get through tomorrow's game without in-game injuries, and go on to win, then we will have shown that  we perhaps do have more depth than many think.

It's obvious Gypsy! Leave the missus at home to mind the kid. Give her ticket to a Dees supporting mate and get on the booze.

Solid plan but if I had Dees supporting mates I probably wouldn't have to lurk around this joint

I cannot remember the last time a team went into a game without a recognised ruckman ... however, Bellchambers is not great by any means and he's the best case scenario for us, all things considered.

We can still win and win well but it's still a very unusual situation that we find ourselves in.  Good luck to whatever ruck combo the MC can come up with.

Oliver, Viney, Jones, Tyson & Vince will all need to be on their games though.  Vince can be a good extractor and with Lewis back, we might see more of Bernie at the stoppages.

Someone please tell me we will win tomorrow.  Lie if you have to.  We cant lose to the drug cheats again, surely.   The thought of their fans getting any joy, especially at our expense, is brutal.

Has averaged 10 disposals, 3.8 marks and 20 hit-outs in his 8 seasons (79 games). I would think that Pedo is capable of at least breaking even, and Watts should be more 'effective' (clearances and the like).

Here's how:

Back 6 work like a machine and stop Oreocookie Orgasmia and his band getting and over the back goals.  DOnt let Daniher think he is JC, hit him hard, many times.  RUn Bellchambers off his legs around the ground.  Great speed and angles of half back. Quality entry to targets in 50.  Lots of goals.  No injuries.

I think the Bombers are a confidence team, and will give it up if we smash them at the contest and just work harder for longer.  Turning dominance into scoreboard pressure will be a big help.

Oh, and no giving up stupid junk time goals.

Thats how we win.

Yeah, I would have been quite concerned if Leuenberger was playing but I'm not sure that Bellchambers even directs the ball that well.  Watts will almost certainly do some rucking but it's his value as a follower/utility that helps us the most.  Pedersen needs to bring his best game and if he does that, we might even end up shading them with the clearance numbers.

Bellchambers will probably get a greater number of hit-outs just because of his height and experience but the thing we absolutely need to curtail are the clean clearances that they might get.

We've got a midfield that we should be able to rely on now so it's time for the lads to step up.

Can be true.

However this wasn't the case for the most part. Seemed lost and behind the game speed somewhat.

Im a little old school perhaps in that i favour the forwards m-o to be more orientated about kicking scores or assisting rather than chasing the ball ( oppo player with said ball ) going the other way.

Either he starts delivering or for mine hes off our list come eos.

Defensive pressure is good. Cant be your only trick though.

I was speaking in general terms, not necessarily about jkh. Seemed like a catch all phrase. There's a need for tackling pressure all over the ground.

Well giving his body a rest on a short week then. Didn't think he has been his energetic self the last 2 weeks.

If he has a full pre season under his belt he would surely only need 4 to 5 days to fully recover BR

They are professional footballers and their loads are carefully monitored and managed on game days and on  the training track with very few players spending more than85%-90% time on the ground. Has played one ordinary game and, on average, is easly tracking in our top 8 to 10 players so far.

I think it's a big ask - simply because the team is so unsettled. Just a fact of life at the moment, but we really need some continuity.

But suspect that it might come down to who is the freshest. Our players have had an extra night's sleep, which counts for a lot in terms of recovery.

It is a big ask, a mighty ask and yet i actually think this game is poised 50/50 i.e anyones. So it might as well be us.

This game will be won or lost in that area between the centre circle and half back. If we contain any movement fwd by Ess and repel/rebound (with purpose) keep our eyes open and lowered and can somehow keep a couple of our lads presenting then i give us a real chance.

If the can breach halfback at will we will be crucified.

Just wear Joe and annoy him. He'll starve.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
