Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Can be true.

However this wasn't the case for the most part. Seemed lost and behind the game speed somewhat.

Im a little old school perhaps in that i favour the forwards m-o to be more orientated about kicking scores or assisting rather than chasing the ball ( oppo player with said ball ) going the other way.

Either he starts delivering or for mine hes off our list come eos.

Defensive pressure is good. Cant be your only trick though.

Strange idea that dd.

Forwards are supposed to hurt the opposition!

You have a way better opinion of him than me RN.

Now that does not make you wrong just a lot different.

when he missed that easy goal in the first quarter last week he dropped to the " will let us down when it counts" list for me RN.

Sorry you were of course referring to JKH OD. My mistake. I don't disagree at all re the standard of his game last week and where he may sit. Where I do differ is the chopping and changing of bringing 'any' player in for only one game then throwing him out the next week, regardless of how he performed In his first entre' (unless he kept tunnel balling or kicking the ball in the oppositions direction or something bizzare like that lol). Also team match ups / venue might mean he is horses for courses one week but not the next. I get that. But otherwise what's the point of bringing a player in if you aren't going to back him and your own initial decision and give him a decent run in order to settle, come up to AFL speed/match fitness and show something? (that the match committee/FD must have seen or known ....things that we don't!??).

If he (or anyone else) continues to under perform in the next match or two (provided it's not one week in isolation in a first up match coming in from Casey) then by all means they should be looked at for someone in better form, if there is that someone. Sadly OD we have just about used our entire stock of players that 'might' be capable of playing 'OK' at AFL level now and running out of depth options.

Cant recall a lucky year or two at this club in this regard, outside of our last 2 GF appearance years.

That could be the case, as for those who love stats, his were far superior to JKH last week, yet he is gone. He also doesn't turn the ball over like JKH did.

To me, JKH is one lucky boy this week.

JKH in his first game back in over a year made costly errors BUT by trying to move the ball on quickly and bringing the ball into the corridor aggressively. Stretch who has had strong development and continuity over the last year did not make clear errors but slowed up play and took safe options.

I think this is about the broader what we are trying to build and where they are both at in their development. Stretch going back to tinker on his game is not a bad thing.

Pedo is probably having a lettuce and carrot salad with a portion of brown rice.Thinking about all the big grabs he will take.

When he first arrived it was fish and chips ,a bottle of coke and some ice cream.

Credit to the dietician !!

My son knew Pedo back at his North Melbourne days. Said he loved a couple of quarter pounder and cheese on a regular basis. Times have obviously changed as he is looking very lean ATM.

I think we did ok injury wise last year RN. In fact I thought it was a factor in us winning ten games.

Sadly we have the opposite end of the stick this year.

JKH... 9 disposals. 4 fumbles. 3 turnovers. OMG. Retained.

Stretch. 19 possessions. Run and carry. 5 inside 50s. Dropped.

Goodwin must be concussed.

JKH better perform !!

This is narrow minded view.

Players need more than one game only to find a groove in their role - especially players that have had considerable time away from the firsts due to injury like JKH has had.

Lets hope he fires this week and proves he can still play at this level. He has the same numbers two weeks in a row, he should definitely be in he gun.

Yes that is true of last year actually. Brain fade. What is this stick you are referring to OD? At this stage it feels more like we are on the receiving end of a nasty red hot poker or a cattle prod!

Patrick Ambrose has been withdrawn from Essendon team. Matty Dea comes in as late replacement.

They took one look at our forward line and decided to drop a tall backman.

Worried that we will be too fast and mobile for them up forward.

Except that Casey doesn't play like that.  So not sure he will improve that aspect if his game at Casey. Don't disagree that his play on game has not has been as good  recently.  However it may be to do with poor forward structure and the fear of turning the ball over, that is obviously drummed into the players.

Ambrose out helps

Not sure. Bombers' supporters don't rate Ambrose. Dea hasn't played this year (Ambrose all 5 games) but had a good season last year averaging 17 disposals and 6 marks per game. He did play pretty well against us.

He is listed as 7cm and 6kg lighter than Ambrose. Much of a muchness.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
