Do we have any other ruck man in the 2s   for next few weeks ? WE cannot expect jack to do it  it will kill him.     I was very [censored] last week  not this week.( except with the football gods)   Would have loved to have seen that game in dry conditions with a full list..   but not to be.     Richmond has def improved(and luck is on their side) not sure about us  but loved the effort with 2 men down. Heads up !!!

You have to feel for Jake.  Finally gets a chance at an extended run at it and he injures himself.  Some people have no luck.

Obviously if his injury keeps him out then you might assume Pedersen comes into the side to play that role.  Jordan Lewis will also come back in as well.  So, for me at the moment:

In:  Lewis, Pedersen

Out:  Smith, Spencer (both inj)

Frost has to go into ruck for mine. Oscar McDonald brought in to take key defensive post. In for Spencer.

Pederson in for Smith

Lewis in for Melksham. No tackles for Melksham as a defender. Gone.

Kent in for Jay Kennedy-Harris. The kick to the corridor from the wing that resulted in Riewoldt goal will go down as one of the worst decisions that I've seen.

This is assuming Petracca and Viney are fine.

Summary:

In: O. McDonald, Pederson, Lewis, Kent

Out: Smith, Spencer, Melksham, JKH

Might add Jones (ankle) and Trac (leg) to those outs.

In: Lewis, Pederson, Bugg, 4 quarters

Out: Spencil, Smith, JKH, Bad luck,

Not convinced Petracca or Viney are ok either.

Pedo to ruck 50/50 with Watts. Bugg comes in to add some more inside grunt who we'll need with no ruckman.

Looks like two forced changes next week. Is it worth riskicg Mitch King? He's still recovering from an ACL. Maybe a surprise debut for Filipovic?

Probably time for Pedersen to come in I think.

Talk of trac missing as well. I know he played out the game. Can i just say next week we are coming up against daniher. U know the guy who manages to kick straight against us and the only time he does it.

Could try no ruckman at all?

= nil all draw as the umpire would have to wait for ever for us to nominate our ruckman.

we will, but we still need to select someone as cannon fodder

The combo of watts and frost should give us the extra mid advantage at Etihad

More likely Bugg...

Apparently Kent didn't do much on the weekend.

I said it on another post but if tackle-free Melksham plays I will know Goodwin is tanking.

We have lost games to teams we easily beat last year - we have not improved

I presume you mean Freo and Richmond

We gave also beaten teams who beat us last year - StK and Carltank

Hate to make excuses, but seriously two men down, one of whom is your ruckman, for half a game makes it hard for any team to hang on to beat any other team.  Once again JW4 not being able to play a whole game as a high forward leaves a huge gaping hole.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
