Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

another great game last night from a developing youngster.

he, tommy mac and frost are all smart footballers - they read the play so well, and whilst they don't always make the 'right' decision with the ball in hand, i back them in to get it right more often than not.

i'd say o mac is tracking ahead of t mac at the same age.

Disagree on Frost. He is not a smart footballer, but rather an athlete, who is learning his craft and loves to take others on, sometime to his detriment.

I am sure however the FD loves it, when he breaks lines, or lays a great tackle by running down a player.

He is getting better and will be part of our 3 pronged, key defensive backs for a long while.

i think it's his ability to read the play that makes him a 'smart' footballer. as i said, they don't often get it right once they've got it, but when the ball is in flight their judgement is astute and they know when to come off their man and impact the play.

they need to learn to TALK more - some of their abilities to spoil each other / all not fly is infuriating.

Just on judging the ball in flight, how good was that spoil from Tmac where he left his man to come over and affect the spoil. Brilliant.

That was an experience thing. Omac will master that eventually too. As will Frost. We are building a dynamic, tall and pacey back 6. I wouldn't say no to Hurley but the development of our tall defensive backs in the second half of this year has been simply superb.

A few weeks back when he kept his spot despite everyone saying he should be dropped (I think it was after the Saints game), I said I was happy he was playing and the coaches had confidence in him, and people on here hounded me about how bad he was and how much he turned it over. Our turnaround is partly due to this confidence in young players like Oscar.

I agree..Something I mentioned a few weeks ago but in an entirely different conversation.

He had a day out yesterday and good for him ( better for us )  He does have the smarts. I just think like many it wasnt so foolhardy to suggest he needed more time in magoos but as luck would have it it, he was it.. So he stayed, and hes made the most of it.

but football blackholes like you are? I've supported this team all my life but I'm a realist and accept the good with the not so good.

You can continue to blow sunshine up your own nether regions every time we win a home and away.

Football blackhole (whatever that's supposed to be) is probably where somewhere someone like you should go, to suggest that a player that was one of the best on ground should be in the AFL Development league (I assume you mean VFL, the AFL don't have a development league) shows the level of your football knowledge.

Yep, as I kept saying, the best way to develop as a KP player, is to play against top players at AFL level.

Oscar had an amazing game last night, really did some excellent things, great ball use, very strong defensively and took some good marks. You can just see his confidence is growing incrementally each week.

Thrilled for him, and even more thrilled for Picket Fence.

Dear FBH,

he didn't rate in the best except for The Age report and The Age has always been well regarded for their football reporting and they must have been impressed by his

speed, penetrating kicks and great decision making. He was ok last night but if he is our future CHB then God help us.

ps a blackhole is a big empty space just like your football knowledge you pathetic "try hard". Try having a kick of football sometime, you may learn something.

Cheers, Troll.

Oscar Mc Donald played his best game for the club last night. He still has deficiencies which I still believe will preclude him from being an automatic selection !

1 I believe you cannot develop pace ! You either have it or you don't and he hasn't got any! He lopes after the ball and always looks to be stuck in second gear!

2 His body on body work has been shizen this year and this may be rectified by a few seasons in the gym and some smart coaching!

3 His decision making is better than his brothers , but that aint saying much!

Not ready to change my avator yet BUT being a man of my word if he was to do these things I will accede to the wishes of the masses!

Happy all!!???

McDonald^2 are developing into a very good combo, and Frost's run and athleticism supplement them well, despite the odd brain fade.

Fitting in well with the dash and grit of Nev and Hunt, plus Wagner, Salem or maybe Vince or Jones in coming years.

The back half is becoming a source of great joy and optimism especially now that our midfield is starting to at least hold its own more regularly.

Maybe Jesse should follow suit and take pressure off himself by just signing on and joining in the fun - does not look as if he is enjoying life at the moment.

Signed off as a Troll.

I find it interesting that a rookie poster thinks it appropriate to berate other posters. More likely that the gawndog has been here before and has been removed, I am looking forward to the encore.

O'Mac played his best game for us, at this rate of improvement he will be one of the better defenders in the comp within 2 years.

A blackhole is not empty. It has so much matter that light cannot escape from it owing to the gravitational effect of the massive mass. They are called blackholes because we cannot see them.

close, but no cigar

Even though photons have no mass, they are still affected by gravity. That's how we can see black holes - by the way they distort the light going near them. The reason nothing can escape a black hole is because within the event horizon, space is curved to the point where all directions are actually pointing inside

Potting Oscar after 2 or 3 games was just ridiculous. Reserve judgment for a couple of seasons (and preseasons).

I love Jacky, but it has to said that he really only came good this year (his eighth season).

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again headlining another blockbuster at the MCG to kick off the round of footy. The Dees take on the Blues and have the opportunity to win their third game on the trot to solidify a spot in the Top 4 in addition to handing the Blues their third consecutive defeat to bundle them out of the Top 8.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
