It looks like we play Geelong in Round 3 at Etihad Stadium. Again, unclear if that's our home game (if so, not sure how I feel about that) or away (if so, good result).

Collingwood is going to lose prime time exposure (great news).

I think we're away to Geelong at Etihad. That would be a great result.

Although 2 of our first 3 games at Etihad probably not so great.

You know, I don't mind it.

Usually we part play tons at the G then when that Etihad game sneaks in it is a forgone conclusion that we'll lose.  This way, bang, we need to start the year hard at Etihad. Those games are our focus all preseason so we should be in the mindset.

No idea if we'll won but it's as good a time to break the mindset as ever. And if we do we set ourselves up for finals with more games at the G in the back half on the season.

I wonder how many (if any) Friday night games we'all get and what are the chances we'all get it as our home game. I'm going to lock a few in based on previous seasons, we will play both Carlton and Essendon once at the G and it'll be an away game.

Just seems to be tradition now.

Ill bet anything that Geelong game at Etihad is our home game, and we dont play them at the MCG yet again.

The putrid AFL didnt mind giving us a home game there vs The Saints this season.

The Geelong game will have to be their home game as they can't play at Simonds for the first 8 weeks of the year, so their home games will be Etihad.  Much rather play them there than at the Kardinia Park hell hole.

Ignoring our history of ordinary results there I actually quite like Kardinia Park its a nice little stadium.

While I will not be happy at all to play a home game at Etihad. I suspect we will once again have to. I feel like I'd much rather it against a Geelong than a St Kilda. At least then we will still get the attendance of a VIc side and we arnt playing someone at their home ground.

Blues rd 2 at the G I've been told.....

Since 2004 we have only played Carlton at the G as our home game 3 times.

Since rd 1 2005 we have played Ess once as our home game at the G

No wonder we get stuffed financially. It's a disgrace.

I like that we have a decent run at the G to start and end the season. One Friday night game is a bit poor, but three Saturday nights might make up for it. The amount of six day breaks is a worry, will test us. Positive overall though.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
