Further to that, the Hogan info was shared when clearly it was a done deal. I would conclude from that, that no deal yet is 100%.

I'm not usually one for coarse language but the hawks can put their PR rubbish up where the sun don't shine!!!

Imagine the experience he would bring to our midfield. He will be great for Brayshaw, Hunt even Viney and it's another player to help out Jones. Its another big body in there to help out. It would be kind of cool to have him.

You are being modest dd.  A done deal perhaps but one no-one knew about it. I recall you 'announced' it the day after the grand final at which time everyone else was still guessing if and when.

Lewis seems to be close to that 100% mark despite the ongoing Hawks shenanigans!  Fingers crossed.

Going to be even more entertaining after Hawks trade out for busts.

curtains closing on the Glenferrie era !!

I don't want to take anything away from Clarkson because he has revolutionised coaching like other greats have done in the past, but it really looks like the presence of Fagan is being sorely missed. Hawthorn have not made these kinds of player and planning errors in a decade or more. Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere and I missed it but this is lookong so much like Brisbane in Voss' first or second year. An absolute operational basket case. And I am so glad it is not us.

The big question is, What number will he wear at the Dees?

6 of course, it will be vacated by then and it will also mean he will be twice the player he was at Hawthorn

Why would any Hawks player be loyal to the club now after they shafted 2 legends?

the hilarious part is they lose their two best players for virtually nothing!

lewis is going to be a maniac when we play the Hawks next year!!

The inclusion of Lewis will be pretty huge to our midfield. He adds some grunt, class,"leadership", and something that we have been lacking for a seriously long time, a genuine third man option in stoppages. I don't think this will hinder the development of some of our younger players, I think it will give some of them the desire to improve, to play alongside him and will really help figure out who isn't good enough to remain on our list in the future.

I really like the way we seem to be going about trade week ever since Roos took over. We have been creative but not risky and rather ruthless, making trades get done on our terms with reluctances to budge. This trade is just another example of the great work of our entire FD.

Emma Quayle has reported that Hawks told Suns, Lewis is too far down the track with Melbourne, to consider coming to them. In other words the deal has been done.

Has never been back to Melbourne from what I hear.....and the club has never sought to get him there...

IMHO the potential benefits of Lewis are to improve three qualities we needed to improve last season: (1) his ability to get his team over the line in tight matches; (2) his skill at getting the ball from contested to uncontested - getting it from a stoppage into useful space; (3) general organisation at stoppages, especially if Max is being nullified.

Young warroir, please make it true. I have been reading for a long time,  regrettably I didn't have the confidence in my IT ability to post until recently. Some of you probably have fathers like me that need help finding the mouse button and technical stuff like that. I will say though that even though a lot of you say things that don't make much sense I don't care. I love all of it and I know all of your hearts beat true. You keep posting, I will keep reading (and post occasionally) and we will all see the Demons prosper.

The twitter account is run by Hawthorn.

The HFC web site is run by Telstra. Enuff said. They may get around to updating it by round 12 next season.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
