Michael Hibberd - MFC

MFC future second round - FRE

Michael Barlow - EFC

this seems pretty fair all round and a good way to hang on to our second rounder this year and maybe try and do another deal or get a decent draft selection in

No disrespect to Barlow, but a soon to be 29 year old is not worth what could potentially be Pick 19 or even 36 IMO.

Actually it's the other way. Barlow is going to tell Jesse how much the flying has hurt his back and affected his rehab after games, not to mention the wasted time involved in flying and getting to and from airports and sleeping in strange hotel beds, every second week of the footy season.

He will also tell him that he fears it has shortened his footy career.

Also that Lyon is an absolute nightmare play under...

Exactly.  Who in their right mind would want to play under Lyon, and especially a KPP forward.  I have no doubt that Pav would have been an even better and more successful player under a coach with a positive rather than a negative mindset.  I think that his final few years were stifled.

Ross was "the coach I always wanted" according to Pav.

How old was Vince when we got him (for pick 20)?

The Bummers, like us with Vince, will be wanting a few players who increase their competitiveness immediately. I wouldn't dismiss the trade purely because of his age.

When we give up our 2nd round pick for Hibberd in the "adult" draft, are we also giving up our 2nd round pick in the kiddy draft as well?

A year younger and had played 21 out of 22 games with a team with a 10 & 12 record

Compared to a year older, not as skilled and played 13 of 22 games in a team with a 4 & 18 record.

Barlow's a 3rd Rounder at best.

Yes, of course, unless Saty heard it directly from a player, it should be dismissed out of hand...

Now, I know we've all heard enough about "destination clubs", but I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Brisbane has been a fantastic destination club for years now: Mitch Robinson, Dayne Beams, Tom Bell, Allen Christensen, Trent West, Jackson Paine, Stefan Martin, Josh Walker, Ryan Bastinac, Jordan Lisle, Brent Moloney, Brendan Fevola, Brent Staker, Amon Buchanan, Rory Hilton, Brad Hardie...

Far too many to name.

More  a Transition club I think, so many players are going through the front door to replace the exodus of players through the back door.

Correct me if I'm wrong, i understand Prestia has apparently chosen/nominated/watnot Richmond but as nothing is legal yet until trade week startsbut what is standing in the way for him or his manager to pull a ruse and at the last minute choose a different club such as melbourne which blindsides the other 17 clubs. Im sure iv probably missed something, feel free to correct me

There has not been 1 leak out of the dees admin this year which gives the look of utmost professionalism and trust in rival players to consider a trade knowing the info never got out

I think you've read one too many spy novels. Prestia will go to Richmond if they can agree to a deal with GCS.

This is why I think that whatever happens Hogan-wise, the administration will make sure that the club comes out of it with a great deal. There are good operators at the MFC these days.

Very impressive man is Pav. By the way was referring to a reference for a job - wasn't doubting that he said what he did. Sorry for being obtuse.

No, just not a fan of managers, of any sort, they have 'ruined' Soccer in England, Connors offered nothing new up, we all know what he repeated, which is repeated on here ad infinitum, still not a fan of Barlow either, but if the club goes with the more 'experienced' player they will have their reasons

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
