Tonight.

Seems like Roos covers a lot of territory.  Recruiting Goodwin, Time at Fitzroy, Pressure on Hogan etc.

I don't have Foxtel so if anyone can give a rundown it would be gratefully appreciated.

I wonder whether Roos' initial reluctance was due to the Essendon Drugs saga, and Goodwin's part in it?

I suspect that is 100% the case

Looking forward to this and wasn't Roos meant to be ON THE COUCH this week? I tuned in last night to find that they were doing a post Home & Away wrap.

Sorry, slight tangent. :P

Just a class act. Of all the current coaches and folks involved in AFL footy, I can't think of anyone that comes close. We were fortunate that he spent 3 years of his life at the Demons. His gave us everything that we did not have. And I have no doubt sustained success is to come. Thanks Paul for everything.

I just watched the full program

Roosy is a football person

Part of his time was Fitzroy Part of his time was The Swans & Part of his time was The MFC. We cannot ask for more. He will watch us closely over the next few seasons i have no doubt. He may even help out behind the scenes.

Just a good bloke is Roosy and such a great player.

During the 80's if Fitzroy were on the TV i used to barrack for Roos

Some of his marks were incredible....

I think that sums him up very well. Like it or not he's got Melbourne in his heart along side Fitzroy and Sydney (understandably Sydney probably occupies more space).

When he was asked about the last round it did upset me because you can tell it hurt him, but I think what upset me the most is he's annoyed with himself about it, that he failed. Definitely didn't deserve to bow out after his worst ever loss.

But a very good interview from Mike, Roos was pretty honest and measured with his responses (wouldn't expect anything less from him). For me the most interesting part was him talking about his time as captain at Fitzroy and how he was put in a difficult position with players and match payments. I get the feeling that a few Melbourne captains have lived through that as well.

I loved the interview, and was struck by Roosy's sincerity throughout.

As a success deprived Melbourne supporter, a couple of snippets filled me with excitement, confidence and expectation for the next few years.  Specifically:

  • Roosy's absolute confidence in Goody to take over the reins;
  • his observation that we now have "great" people in all areas of the Club;
  • his comment that we are now set up for a "sustained period of success"   ..........  if not next year, then 95% certain we will be playing finals the year after.

Thanks Roosy, and all the best for the future.  We are indebted to you!

    CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

    The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

    I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

    Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
