To be fair, I didn't see his GWS games but the couple of game's I saw at Carlton were mind-numbingly awful. Who's our player?

Isaac Weetra, struggled in the VFL reserves yet on the back of some unimpressive preseason games started the season in the seniors.

Wouldn't mind trying to bring in WHE if the price was right (2nd rounder +?), he could bunk with JKH and be the hyphen brother's.

His pace and run definitely suits our needs, we have our engine room developing nicely, now we just need some outside run and class. He is also capable up forward too.

We do have the likes of Kent, Kennedy, Harmes even Garlett, who can play up the ground, but they are more small forwards/rotating mids, whereas WHE is a mid/rotating forward.

 

***As for the Morton comparisons, they are worthy, but even Morton would do better in our team now, compared to when we were abhorrently bad and he was with us (save 2010 & 2011)

It's true that he looks and plays EXACTLY like a player that Melbourne would've drafted under BP

It's a very different club now though and he has natural talent without question.

He's worth looking at imo. Depends on the asking price.

Hoskin-Elliot has had his season ravaged with quad and hamstring injuries , he started the season In the Senior team but wasn't great in the early season games against Geelong and Sydney, got dropped and has since had injury issues and hasn't had a decent run at it, his last few weeks in the NEAFL have been vastly improved but over his career he hasn't averaged great numbers, as someone pointed out, he's had cameos of games where he showcased his talent and X factor, but it's few and far between.

I've only seen him a couple of times, but I really liked the way he played.  I remember comparing him to Bob Murphy at one point.  Obviously his career has stalled under Cameron up at GWS, but the guy has skills and can run and we need both of those attributes.  I wouldn't be offering a high pick, but I think he's certainly worth making a play for. 

The fact that Collingwood are said to be into him is also a good reason.  Anything to stuff up one of their trades or drive the price up on them.

I'm certainly guilty of that. 

However, GWS as a club are an outlier. The obvious reason being that they possess so much more talent on their list than any opposition club within the AFL. In fact it's a joke how much talent they have.

There's a reason their seconds side win by close to 100 points a week every week. The club is a gold mine of talent and we'd be mad not trade for players who would complement our group.

Will-Hoskin Elliott is exactly the 'type' of player we need to inject into our midfield mix. We're a really heavily contested midfield group, we're certainly not quick and it's clear to me that we're now at the stage of our list building where we can introduce these specialty type of players and give them really defined roles. The contested part of our game is sorted.

Sort of agree stmj.   We have to recruit the ones we can, & then try to teach them to play with non negotiable's,  as well.  IF we get enough of them, we will find some who will do the 2 way running, & contest the footy hard. 

Ssome will fall by the wayside, but hey, welcome to the AFL.

I was impressed by Hoskin-Elliot when I first saw him, so I watched him a bit and the thing that I noticed was, he didn't get much of the ball, he looked OK when he had it but it wasn't enough. 

I don't think that's changed, he looks ok but he needs to do more, besides where would you play him?

Casey, until he works harder on contested ball.  He'll learn, or he'll fail.  Let him mature at the Demons, & see if we can help him grow.  Watts his name has.

It is easy to fall in love with his skills, and his evasiveness, but is he effective? From what I have seen of Hoskin Elliot he is an X factor type, looks to have some levels to him. But the only consistency he has shown so far is that he is inconsistent - and cannot hit those high levels too often. GWS will ask a lot for him as he is a high draft pick. Not sure MFC can cater for him. We have Hibberd to fit in. Now rumors are we are also into Tom Cutler.
