THE MOST AWESOME POST MATCH THREAD EVER!!!

Recommended Posts

The last two weeks has seen Nathan Jones will us over the line. Epic performances.

Viney just refused to be beaten in every single contest. Ran all day.

Max was simply unstoppable.

Rioli is a dog. And gone for that hit on Oliver. Mitchell is gone as well.

Watts is a believer in himself now. Brilliant go to man.

I loved the way our guys refused to be bullied. In fact they did the bullying.

Oh, and the umps were appalling again.

Today was the day the Melbourne Football Club came of age and signalled to the rest of the football world that we will no longer be pushovers.

anyone see the cheap little open slap Mitchell did to Watts? Just saw it on the sport highlights. Not much in it but still a chape shot and I hope Rioli's spear tackle gets looked at.

Was enough force to rock Watts' head back and he might get a week for it hopefully. He's been dishing out cheap shots his whole career and is one of the most cowardly gutless cheats to play the game in my lifetime. Nut punch to Daniel Kerr, repeated corkies against players who he knew who just couldn't beat fairly. Sam Mitchell is undeniably a sh*t bloke.

Sorry if this is already posted - did anyone hear that caller on 693 saying that Petracca will be another 'Tom Scully' situation and he'll go to the Hawks?

Apparently, they've been in his ear since he got drafted....anyone hear anything like this?

Tell them to get [censored].

Trac is committed to Melbourne  and the money $cully was offered will never be on the table again!

Today was one of our best wins this millennium. It was so exciting to finally see Viney, Bradshaw, Petracca and Oliver play together and boy did they produce the goods! Gawn was incredible, Weiderman will be good with more size, Watts was genius, all our players dug in and did what was needed. If we could bring that intensity every week then we're finals bound. Go Dees!

He extended his rookie contract last year, something Scully never did.

About as much chance of Weideman being another Lucas Cook.

Had the great pleasure of watching the game with two close Hawks friends and a bevvy of Hawthorn supporters at a local pub up here and I think I can safely say I represented the red and blue with the vociferous support they deserved. Called the game midway through third when we'd answered their challenge. We were always going to win today. One for the true believers and the break out statement game we've all yearned. Whose shout?

Well done you!   Enjoy mate as only those of us from far flung realms can appreciate!!!

A truely memorable win. Gawn is a beast, his efforts today were massive all over the ground.  Oliver was sensational, loved his work on the boundary when he kept the ball in and played on, too many melbourne players would be satisfied with just running it over. I loved the fact that he backed himself, his ability to dish to ball off to a players was first class.  Not sure anyone noticed by there may have been a couple of dodgy umpiring calls that cost us a couple of goals, and a couple of poor turn overs by our players when we were close to our goals that resulted in them scoring instead of us.  If we had just controlled the ball a little better we would have won by 50+ points.

All in all time to go back and watch a replay of the game, this time i promise to be a bit more quiet, except when that little xxxx riolli comes into the frame.

As one Prime Minister said "That was the sweetest victory of them all" And I am thinking of a certain grand final, criminals like Leigh Matthews, thugs like  Berto DiPierdomenico and a host of other humiliations.

Play it again Sam

Remember this date 6 August 2016.  It is the date the MFC came out of its shell.

We now have talent on our list, we have potentially 5-6 elite players over the next 3 seasons.  We are on our way, and without doubt one of my proudest days been a member of the MFC.

absolute Gold.

Thanks mate. Felt really positive before the game and decided to just go with it and carry on like a lunatic. The sound was on mute enabling me to provide the commentary for the whole bar. Two older Hawks supporters made the mistake of ordering a bottle of champagne halfway through the last. Maybe took a little too much pleasure in highlighting the audacity of their drink of choice given the unintentional suggestion of premature adulation on their behalf. Glad the boys backed me up. Hope you had as much fun mate!

Only 3 bad decisions against, us in the last quarter and I learnt a few things today. Rio like can duck into a tackle and win a free. He can tackle around the head and not give away a free and he can throw the ball as much as he likes. He can also,be on the losing team and the commentators will still call him as if he is walking on water.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
