GAMEDAY - Round 20

This umpiring is an absolute [censored] joke. I don't normally give a [censored] about umpiring but [censored] these [censored].

Apart from that, what a ripper game.

Some of our ball movement would destroy a lot of other teams, but Hawthorn are always right with ya and cause that last fumble. We're getting there. I think we'll run out of steam as usual, but I hope the intensity stays.

For those who are saying look how good we are going without Hogan, may i remind you that Weideman is a more natural lead than Hogan. Weed knows when to time his run when the ball is coming to him.

Jesse is a natural CHF. He wants to go to the ball, not wait for it.

I will, better comments on forums with neutrals without the biased emotional garbage whinging about umpires every comment.

And just quietly, the reason everyone is so frigging angry about it, is because we have a fantastic young team, who desperately need a big scalp, and who would be five goals up at half time against the probable premier but for some absolutely disgusting, unfathomable decisions.

If you don't like it, nick off to BigFooty and talk about the game with West Coast supporters or something.

Not worried about the umpiring. Just focused on the MFC and loving what I am seeing.

How exciting is the Weed? Getting some serious love in this house.

He looks like a natural footballer.  Couldn't have asked for more in the first half.  Hoping he doesn't tired too much in the second and continues to provide that contest.

Give him another couple of years, hopefully playing alongside Hogan, and we'll have one damn fine forward line on our hands.

Can someone watching on TV please tell me why Rioli got the free kick after the Oliver bump?

Hunt got him over the shoulder.

Paul Roos absolutely lost his [censored] at the one after that though - the one where he blatantly ducked into Jones' tackle and got rewarded.

When we have Hogan leading up the ground and making himself a big, strong marking target across half forward, with Watts and Weed back, we'll be unstoppable.

Both in the same team would be nice

12 touches and [censored] knows how many clearances for Oliver in that quarter.

He had 6 clearances that term.  Sensational stuff.  Love how quick he is with the ball in terms of making a decision.

The umpiring is horrendous. It feels like every time we get a decent buffer up they get a shocking decision and a goal.

It's ruining an otherwise entertaining game. We're playing at a high level with some really good ball movement and, most importantly, intensity at the contest.

I hope we can keep it up for 4 quarters. Limit the turnovers and a bit of luck with them not getting goals from frees and we can do this.

A lot to like regardless, though.

I doubt it.I think garlet and pedo need to start kicking goals.

This could be our sweetest win in eons. Go dees.

And he's kicking the ball. Clearly, they've told him to focus on gaining some territory and being a bit more damaging with his disposal. He's obviously worked on it, and he's killing it.

He was tackled high. It was there, but somehow they miss almost everytime we get hit high. Reckon Bernie has a broken nose, no free though. Jetta copped one on the siren as well. He was wobbly getting up, he may be concussed again. [censored] hope not.

Hogan and Weeds in the same team today would've been good.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
