Not blistering stats by any means, but not terrible under the circumstances. He attempted many things which didn't come off due to conditions. I would definitely give him another game next week and hope for some magic on the dry Etihad.

Watching the St.Kilda v Essendon game last night, we really need 2 players to play on Bruce and Membrey.  Neither are runners, but are strong pack marks. 

T. Mac can handle one of them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the return of Garland or Dunn for this game. 

Apart from Jack Steven, the Saints have little else that should worry us.  Reiwoldt is a shadow of his former self, and the turnovers that they gave against a deplorable side in Essendon would have seen the result reversed against any other side.  In fact Essendon led with 10 minutes to go.

This is the chance to get rid of another of those records.....

If Oscar can't play, I would certainly prefer Garland over Dunn, but we definitely need another defender. Not sure why Wagner should come in after missing three weeks, and not doing that much prior. Would prefer to see White get another go.

Kennedy needs to spend several weeks at Casey, not just one. His efforts have been poor recently and he is clearly out of form. I would bring in another midfielder, probably Trengove. Petracca and Stretch are on the cusp as well, but both seem suited to Shocklands.

White or Wagner are both able to take Membrey, similar height...no need for Garland or Dunn.

I think we learnt a lot last time we played the Saints and I am excited to see how we go.  They moved the ball very quickly after a turnover and got us out the back all day.  It was horrible. Since then, we have remained poor at defending opposition kick-ins, but as a general rule our zone has responded to turnovers much more quickly, and our coverage to prevent goals out the back has been far better.  Adelaide was a good example of that IMO.  

So I think we shouldn't make too many changes. Definitely Wagner if he is ready.

Having seen the replay, several players were absolutely cooked come the final quarter so I think we'll need several changes to bring in fresh legs. Be interesting to see who gets the call up.

Riewoldt has been spoken about as a possible AA selection. Disrespectful to say he's a shadow of his former self. He'd carve us up in a wheelchair anyway.

I'd like to see them put some pressure on against the saints once in a while and see how we go. I would seriously consider a defencive forward every time we get killed against the saints the problem is coming out of our forward 50. The game this year it looked like a training trill. Lock them down coming out and we give ourselves a hope. 8 point game this one. A loss here suddenly puts us a game behind the saints, a team that we would like to think is well behind us. Something we seriously need to reconsider if we cant get the job done. I'm nervous about Petracca he looks tired at times then brilliant at others. If he can bring some of his best flare and pressure to our forward line then he is well worth keeping in. In a game will be lost on the rebound, tracc is capable of helping us stop that.

Oscar out for Garland or Wagner (I think wagner needs a run out at casey given he has had a 3 week layoff now)
Oliver in for Vince if injured 
Bugg in for Petracca if rested 

On form this should be a comfortable win 6+ goals saints have been terrible the last 2 weeks. The unfortunatly reality is Edihad + St Kilda + Darwin adds up to a 6-8 goal loss... God I hope I'm wrong

As far as defensive matchups go, I'd really like to see the following:

Frost to Bruce

T-Mac to Riewoldt

Dunn to Membrey 

White is the perfect player to go third man up when required because he kills contests in the air.

He plays exactly how a third man up should. Gibson does it for Hawthorn so well and it'll go a long way to helping us get over the line.

(I'm assuming Oscar won't get up).

Stretch will not get dropped, Roos and the MC never have dropped players who do the 1%ers. (ie look at home many tackles and shepards Stretch has had in the past two weeks).

If Dunn was to get another game this year I would highly doubt it would be against St Kilda given his last game...

Is there any suggestion that Dean Kent may be injured? I note from the AFL website stats that he supposedly spent 70% of match time on the ground, lower than everyone other than Oscar McDonald (with 63%). I was expecting younger players such as Stretch, Petracca and Hunt to have lower numbers but they spent 75%, 87% and 83% of time on the ground respectively. Kent can't have been off the ground for playing poorly - because when he was on he played well. Does anyone know why Kent spent such a comparatively low amount of time on the ground?

As long as White stays in we are a chance of breaking the streak against the saints. He has not tasted defeat yet as a Demon and better yet he has 100% strike rate at Etihad.

Membrey has been their in form forward. So I assume Tom Mac goes to him, Frost could play on Riewoldt, and has the athleticism to follow him onto the wing

if need be, so the wildcard matchup is Bruce. If Oscar Mac doesnt get up as expected you'd have to bring in one of Garland or Dunn. Neither of who are setting

the world on fire at Casey.  Wagner probably due a run at Casey before returning.
