6. Gawn. Just everywhere every time we needed him to be. Should poll three in the charlie

5. Vince. Ridiculous amount of the pill he won today. Turned a couple over early which cost him bog in my eyes but he still was super.

4. Bugg. Really wasn't a fan of him as a recruit but he really has added a fair bit. Steele and Pendles were going to be the two to win it for them and after the 1st I thought they might. His next 3 quarters he destroyed Sidebottom thank god

3. Tyson. Smooth mover, plenty of hard ball wins and his kicking has been super

2. Kent. Easily his best game for us where he hurt a few filth back men and slotted a few through also. This is what we need from the Kent week in week out

1. Frost. Hoges/T Mac are unlucky here but I was just so shocked with how well he went and the dash be kept providing. Very exciting seeing him play well back there

6. Gawn - just huge. Didn't like not being in people's mid year all Australian.

5. Vince - leather poisoning. Also love that his touches are kicks.

4. Jones - worked tirelessly all day and showed a heap.

3. Bugg - just made Sidebottom look second rate.

2. Tyson - do we have a midfield or what.

1. Kent - one of his best.

He will be a real gun .

Needs to just Go!!!

Electric but unearthed at this stage.

A part of our future for sure.

6 Gawn - Clearly the matchwinner in the second term, even though he was good all day.

5 Vince - Was prolific early, but still tended to spray it a bit. Loved the way he went on to Treloar in the second term and made him work his butt off to get a touch. Handy when down back as well.

4 Kent - All the things we like about his game was on show and seemed to enjoy being the No.1 little guy target with Jeffy out of action. Was one of about four Dees that really stood out in the first term when we were still fighting to gain control.

3 T-Mac - Can someone please show me which of his kicks were intercepted. Really reliable all day and provided plenty of run from defence.

2 Jonesy - A couple of dreadful turnovers in the first term but then just went back to being hard and clever. Next week's the big test.

1 Bugg - Poor start but then tightened screws on Sidebottom and that was a key to stopping their scoring.

Apologies to so many.

Petracca and O-Mac finally looked the part - both were good from the word go. Not dominant but very good.

Tyson - Probably didn't give him enough credit in his battle with Pendles.

Frost - Why wasn't he allowed to play his defensive role earlier in his career. Still a project player but very handy.

Hoges - Along with Gawn, was the matchwinner in the second term after being ragdolled.

Hunt - This guy has changed our look, almost as much as Hoges and Gawn. It won't be long before he is tagged by a small forward.

6 - Gawn (just beat out Vince in an absolute dominant display)

5 - Vince (played a great game)

4 - Jones (another solid game from the skipper)

3 - T-Mac (he's getting back to his best form)

2 - Tyson (knocks up getting the ball and is now using it better)

1 - Bugg (blanketed Sidebottom who was rendered ineffective)

Apologies to Kent,  Hogan,  Kennedy,  Viney,  Frost,  Hunt,  Petracca and a number of others.

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
